I celebrated by 40th birthday this weekend (yikes!), and got a beautiful Pandora bracelet from my family.

They got me the pink leather bracelet, as pink is my fav colour, but as I read through the entire booklet last night, I noticed it says that for the leather bracelet, don't put on more than 7-9 beads.

None of us knew this, nor did the jewelry boutique mention this. I already have 5 beads, and will be getting a few more over the next couple of months, which would then put me at the limit.

I realize this has to do with the weight and wear and tear on the bracelet, so how many beads do you have on your leather bracelets? How is it holding up? Do you think the warranty would be void if more beads are placed on it?

Thanks, Tiger :)

I have the double wrap leather bracelet with five beads at the moment, but I sure do plan on having more than nine! Your bracelet will show the wear and tear, it won't just fall off randomly... So when it looks worn, just replace it. :)

If you were planning on eventually having a bracelet completely full of beads, I definitely would not do it on the leather one....way to heavy to be supported by the leather. If you are only planning the 9 or 10, then you will be fine!

I have 5 on mine right now and plan on adding more. I'll just check it for wear and when I notice it I'll replace it.

Thanks. That is what we thought. Mom said I could exchange it, but I love the pink, and they picked it because it's my favourite colour - like that it also helps breast cancer too.

I will switch it once I need to, Tiger :)

at the Pandora boutique I got my dd's at. They told me not to put more than 3-4 beads on it.

I got the leather so she could take some remove some off theme beads from her silver bracelet.

I'd exchange it for a sterling silver model and get some sort of pink bead to remind you of the original pink band.

I have 26 beads on mine, it is stuffed full.
I'm starting to think of bracelet #2. :goodvibes

I have the double leather bracelet and currently have 19 beads on it, 3 of which are spacer beads and 6 of which are wood or murano.

I think the bigger issue with how many beads you put on the leather bracelets is whether you can then get the bracelet on your wrist. I got some new beads for Christmas and tried to put them on here and then couldn't do up the bracelet. Took one off, did up the bracelet, but it was defintely stuck in place on my wrist - it didn't move around at all like my silver bracelets do. Could just be my big wrists. :confused3

I don't think its you. when they sized my dd at the store they selected the sized on the theory that only 3-4 beads would be placed on it.

The double is different.

The brand new Pandora catalogue definitely says 7-9. It's on the 2nd last page.

I have very small wrists - my DD who is 7, has a bigger wrist than I do. I currently have 5 beads, and the bracelet is pretty loose. I totally understand about the size and clustering of beads, but until I get a glass bead, I won't know. Like I said, my wrist is very small, and so I know I won't be able to wear a bracelet stuffed with beads, as it's going to bother my wrist. Leather isn't going to move around like silver, especially in the summer with the heat/humidity, so I will more than likely get a silver bracelet, so that I can mix and match.

Like I mentioned, the catalogue definitely says 7-9, so not sure if the stores are mentioning 3-4 as a way to upsell the silver/gold bracelets, because most wrists are larger, or, because of the size of beads?

I'll know more once I have it longer than a few days, and get some more beads on it.

Thanks so much for the replies! Enjoy your bracelets, Tiger :)

Some of the leather bracelets do come in different sizes, even the double. So if you wanted to fit all your beads on it (in general) you could buy a size up. We just got dd the longest double so she can wear it as a necklace.

I can see the reasoning behind this. I have a metal bracelet, and it is full of charms. It is VERY heavy (I don't wear it that much because it is so heavy).

I didn't realize the double came in a bigger size, but no biggie.

I like my leather one but don't like that I have to be careful with wasing my hands, etc when wearing it.

As far as how heavy the silver bracelets are when full, you get used to it if you wear them all the time. I used to wear 4 at once.

I would not put too many. My DD decided to put about 9 on hers until she started noticing that it was getting worn and had to get a new one. Now, she only has 4 on her new one and only 2 on her old one.

I have the silver one completely filled up and it's very heavy. I also have a Brighton one as well.

Interesting, I hadn't heard this before. I have a leather bracelet with about 15 charms on it and it is showing absolutely no wear. I've been using it on and off for about a year now, gradually adding charms over time. I also have a silver bracelet, but just do not like the way it feels on my wrist.
