RE: Grounds of the French Quarter?

I know that the French Quarter is undergoing a renovation right now, but I was curious as to whether or not visitors at POR can wander over. I'd like to check out the hotel for a possible future trip, but don't want to wind up getting arrested for trespassing!

Also, I'll post this on another board, but while I'm here... I heard the waterpark rehab schedule is different this year. Does anybody know what will be closed when? (I've heard that Blizzard Beach will be closed for rehab while I'm there in late November/early December, which on the one hand is a bummer, cause I love that park, but on the other, it'll make me go somewhere else, which is good since I'm such a creature of habit!)

Unfortunately, Richard, the walkway to PO-FQ has been blocked, as has the roadway leading to PO-FQ. If you would like a look at the grounds, your best bet would be to take the boat from PO-R to DTD and see it from the back. Having stayed there, I can tell you the grounds are quite lovely, and I am sure that if you stayed there you would not be at all disappointed!

Yes, there is a rumor going around about the waterpark rehab schedules being flip flopped this year, making Blizzard Beach closed 1st and Typhoon Lagoon 2nd. Rumor has it that TL may be the recipient of a new and wonderful attraction, but nothing has been officially announced.
