Hi!

We are currently in the Early Seating for our first Disney Cruise next May, 2005.

We will have children aged 12, 10 & 6, who would like to take part in the Welcome Aboard Celebration at the Oceaneer Lab currently running from 8:45 - 9:45 the first night.

If we have dinner at 6:00 Early Seating that would mean that the children would have to miss "Hercules - The 'Muse'-i-cal", which is something they do NOT want to miss. If we go to the early showing at 6:30 and then go to the late dinner at 8:30, may we request that the meals be served to the children quickly so that they will miss as little as the Welcome Aboard Celebration as possible?

If you have children who have attended this in the past, is it worth it?

I'd thought about switching to late seating, but the other days the Early Seating would be best.

Is it possible to request the Late Seating just for the first night and then switch to our designated Early Seating the rest of the cruise?

I know that the show & times may change, but these seem to be the norm.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!! :)

The shows are performed twice each evening - 6:30 for the late seating people and 8:30 for the early seating. I do not think you can have different seating for different nights. You can go to the early show and have either room service or chicken fingers, burgers from Plutos for the kids and then have dinner with just the two of you.

Well, we just sailed on the Magic on 4/17 and we had the early seating. My kids would not have made the later seating at all. Anyway, most shows are also shown at a matinee--we went to see the Dreams show at 2 p.m. because there was something they wanted to do in the kids club at the 8:30 show--I think it was the pj party.

Hope this helps.

There is no hurrying up the late seating..you will be lucky if you get a meal sometime between 9:30 and 10pm.

If there is a full day planned, extra evening activities..just skip the dining room that night. Let the kids order room service, or get food at one of the buffets or quick places up on deck. You do not have to eat in the dining room every night!

Go get the kids something from Plutos or Room Service around 5-5:30, go to the first show (6:30) and take them to the clubs before late dinner. Mine preferred this and it was SO much more relaxing than our first cruise with early seating.

I found that we had dinner far before 9:30-10:00. We had our appetizers within 15 minutes of sitting down and dinner as soon as we finished the appetizers. In fact, we were out of there in about an hour each night, including eating dessert

masonpips: I love your pictures. Just goes to show how fast our little ones grow up.:(
