Re: 4th of July Dilemma

Thought I'd throw a thread over here and see if anyone might know the answer. We'll be arriving on july 4th, but not planning on attending the parks until the 5th. I have been told my a number boarder's that DTD is actually having (and had in the past) fireworks at 10:30 pm on the 4th. We're planning on meeting at DTD for dinner (3 families) 3 different resorts and kicking off at MK on the 5th. I called DR today and spoke to someone (who wasn't overly convincing to put it nicely) told me that DTD hasn't and won't be having a fireworks display on the 4th.

I don't know if dtd has separate fireworks, but why not go to one of the MK resort properties and watch the MK fireworks? Bring along a picnic, or buy something from the cs at the hotels and head out to one of the beaches.

I don't think that they had fireworks at DTD last 4th, I seem to recall there being signs as we drove by there that morning that there were no fireworks that night. I agree with the other poster about going to the Poly, GF, or Cont. and maybe having dinner there then watch the fireworks from that resort. My favorite is to do O'hanas and then go on the beach. We did that for NYE last year and the fireworks were spectacular!

No fireworks have been announced for DTD and they did not have them last year. Additionally they had signs all over the place announcing they were not having...so I would be highly surprised to see them have them this year.

I would go to the Poly Beach for the MK fireworks.

Don't know the answer about DTD but last year a LOT of FL fireworks were cancelled (not just WDW) due to a fire threat, happens sometimes due to the heat and lack of rain...don't think it'll be a problem this year, we've had rain

I would go with the suggestion of heading over to one of the MK resorts for dinner

well idk if they do the fireworks in dtd buut last year they did all fireworks displays for fourth of july 3 nights... the 3rd 4th and 5th so if you want to see them simply see them another night.

Three of the Walt Disney World theme parks will mark Independence Day with special events on July 4.

+ At Epcot, the patriotic coda to IllumiNations will be attached. The showing will begin at 10 p.m. An expanded collection of the Voices of Liberty singers will be in concert at 12:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m. amd 3 p.m. Also, look for Betsy Ross and Ben Franklin on the scene.

+ At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, fireworks set to rock ’n’ roll music will be at 9:50 p.m. — in between performances of Fantasmic (9 and 10:30 p.m.)

+ At Magic Kingdom, the “Celebrate America Fireworks” will go up at 9 p.m., followed by two rounds of the Main Street Electrical Parade at 10 p.m. and midnight.
