RD question for AK

Doing Rope Drop at AK tomorrow morning. Two questions as far as strategy.

The park opens at 8am for EMH. What time should we try and arrive at AK? 7?

We’re at Coronado. Is there any benefit to just grabbing an Uber in the AM? During Christmas we waited for the bus to MK and didn’t get there until 6:25 (EMH) started at 6. Is It better to snag an Uber around 6:30-6:45 and avoid the bus all together?

Are you trying to do FoP? If so then get there at 7am.

Can't answer your question about Uber. Check the bus times on the app and if you don't like what you see get an uber.

I guess my main question is: if we do Uber, you get dropped off by the park entrance right? Not like Magic Kingdom where you’d have to take the ferry over?

If you're looking to rope drop FoP then I'd get there at 7. Busses "officially" start running 45 minutes before park opening (so 7:15 in this case) and which means if you want to be at the park for 7, and through bag check, a safer bet is to plan on an Uber/ Lyft.

It drops off right at the park, fairly close to the entrance. I circled the area on the map. Give or take a few feet.

Uber drop off is NICE at AK. Very close to the entrance. I would plan on uber to avoid any issue with getting there on time, if you wanna be leading the pack. The price for the ability to know you'll have no issue is worth it, imo. Of course, if you're the only one at the bus stop and there is an AK bus a minute away, I'd hop on the bus.

The "official" line about when buses start is not right, they usually start an hour or an hour and half prior to park open (for EMH). If you are doing FoP get there around an hour early. If you will stress out waiting for a bus, or just like using uber, it is quicker to take alternate transportation just because you can choose when to have them pick you up. I've rope dropped AK to go to FoP several times, and I've always taken a bus.

Be there by 7.

To be sure to be there by 7 you should take an Uber.

Anything else leaves your experience to chance.

The MDE app shows you what time the bus will arrive for pickup at a Disney resort. If you're at another resort offering EMH, busses may not start far enough in advance. But, at the moment Disney busses are starting well before that 1 hour mark. I've seen times 2 hours before opening (EMH or not).

I was at a bus stop this week, 1 hour before opening I'm boarding a bus & lady says 'oh, we're on the first bus'. Absolutely not, I'd been watching bus times since I woke up an hour prior. But, the official line is 45-60 min before park opening...its just not accurate.
