Ok...My hubby and i are planning on an adult only get away. Contemplating a cruise or Costa Rica. For giggles, I looked on RCI and didn't see any resorts for Costa Rica. Is that true??

My sis and trade to RCI and 30 different Costa Rica resorts show up and none for us....

I saw 5 Costa Rica resorts in the directory, of course, there may be no availability for the dates you're checking.

DVC only has access to a fraction of RCI's resorts; that's why your sister can 30 and I can see 5.

I didn't search a date. I searched Central America. Is it under a different category? Has anyone ever been?

Lynne searched the RCI/DVC Directory. It sounds like you searched Availability. Lynne found that there are 5 possible resorts offered to DVC owners through RCI ... you found that none of these 5 are currently available.

Click the image below to see a large version. From the member website, RCI link. Selected 'Resort Directory', 'Central America'.

Yep, that's exactly it. On the RCI site, there are four orange tabs along the top.
Home, RCI Account Information, Exchange Search, and Resort Directory. I looked at the Resort Directory.

So you need to look at exchange search to find properties we can use our DVC on?

You use Exchange Search to begin a search to find availability when you want to book. The Resort Directory tab shows all RCI resorts that DVC has selected.

So if it's listed on the resort directory, we can use DVC points to book it. Then, when ready to see availability we need to go to the exchange search tab. Do I have that right?

Correct. Some resorts will have a 'RCI Points' designation which means they can be book nightly. If the 'RCI Points' designation is not there, you must book weekly (7 nights).

Of these 5 resorts, only 1 is currently available in March 2013. ALL of these 5 resorts are Mandatory All Inclusive. If you want one, the best way to proceed is to put in an going search for what you want.
