RCI Exchange Question

We're staying at OKW in August through an exchange with RCI. I have stayed at OKW before, but never through an exchange.

Can anyone tell me if you're able to make room requests on an exchange? I don't have a reservation number, just the exchange confirmation page through RCI.

I would love to request a top floor in a quiet location - we're light sleepers and those heavy walkers kill me :rotfl:

I did the same but for January. You can call member services and get the Disney Confirmation and also make room request.

If you print out your confirmation email, Member Services number is in the paragraph describing OCC (occupancy).

Depends on whether it's a weeks exchange or points exchange. The number does print for a weeks exchange but not a points exchange though you can still call the number once you get it.

So glad you asked this question. I also have a reservation through RCI at OKW for February. I just today tried calling OKW to get my confirmation number or reservation number or whatever it is I need, and they said they dont get reservations until 10 days before you arrive. I just find that hard to believe.

So I called RCI and they said they don't sent the reservations to the resorts until 3 weeks ahead. I find that hard to believe also.

I stayed in DVD villa last January, another trade through RCI, and I was able to call and get my confirmation number many months ahead. I don't understand what is going wrong. Did I ask the wrong question? I want that confirmation number so I can start booking my ADRs and not have to do it a day at a time.

Do you, or does anyone have the right number to call at Disney to get what I need? It is not on my RCI confirmation.

You have to call Members Services, not the resort itself which is what it sounds like you did. If you have a weeks exchange, the number is toward the the bottom of your confirmation for RCI points, you can call RCI and get the phone number to call.

I spent quite a bit of time talking to RCI today. The only phone number they gave me was for DVC. I have a feeling they won't be able to help me.

They also told me that they don't send my trade to Disney until 3 weeks before my arrival. I know that is not correct.

I have a points confirmation from RCI and it doesn not have Member Services number on it. Do you know what it is? Is it a secret number or something?

It is against rules to post it here. If you do a google search, it's not hard to find. Call then option 1 then option #3 I think it is (exchange department).

You can find the number online in your RCI account. Search for any WDW-area DVC resort with availability in Points. Once you have a resort with availability, click on the Resort Information tab. In the left-hand column, under Additional Information, you'll find a longish paragraph that includes an 800 number. That's the number for Member Services.

Note that, for some reason, this paragraph isn't displayed if you are just looking at the resort directory; you need to be searching for a resort with actual availability.

It takes about a week, maybe two, for your reservation information to be transferred over to Member Services. They should have your reservation number after that point. (And, it looks like the recent upgrade to the b2b interface may have sped up the transfer process; I'm not 100% sure.)

Thank you all. I did finally get what I needed, but wanted to let you all know something I learned. There is a difference between Member Services and DVC Member Services. Once I called DVC Member Services, they had my reservation and were able to help. In fact, they have someone for RCI/II exchanges.
