RCI Exchange Availability: OKW & SSR available on RCI for April & May!

I was looking at RCI availability and saw that OKW & SSR are both available for April & May (1 bedroom at 44-45 points/week). I'm planning for July, so these don't help us; but, I wanted to let my DisBuddies know, just in case someone else was looking.

My dad after my mom's passing recently deeded a timeshare week they had to me and my brother, and I've always been super curious if onsite Disney ever come up and how many points those would be. April and May are great months to go to Orlando too. It's not something either or us we will be doing this year either (actually our two families are getting together in Moab, UT in early May in a big VRBO house), but super interesting and just wanted you to know that I for one appreciate your posting this.

@kathy884, thank you for responding with such a kind note! We joined RCI last year and I often check, just to see if something comes up. It isn't super common, which is why I shared on here. If any Disney fans have leftover RCI points from last year, this would be a fun way to use them. I'm really hoping that a few weeks become available in July, so I can bring my kids. Disney does charge an extra $190 fee (for my RCI membership type), but I wouldn't mind paying that to stay on site.
I really hope that you are able to eventually go to Disney with your brother's family. Using your parents' timeshare with your family is such a beautiful way to honor your mother's memory.

@NOLA_Tink and @kathy884, you can log into your RCI account and put in an ongoing search for the DVC properties. That way you can specify a date range, if need be, depending on when you can travel, and if you get a match they’ll email you, which lessens the chance that you’ll miss it. In the last several years DVC has deposited almost only SSR and OKW 1BR, but others have popped up from time to time, especially during COVID-19 when a lot more DVC owners than usual have been depositing their points into RCI. Disney frequently doesn’t deposit until 6 months or less from checkin, however.

Thanks for sharing this! I was trying to figure out how to set it up and got it done earlier today. I also snagged a 1 bedroom at SSR for our July trip! I'm sooooo excited!!!

I wanted to thank YOU because your post led me to check my RCI account and find an SSR exchange for June that’s perfect for DH and me. We’ve been wanting to stay there but are out of DVC points for this year, so we’re excited to be planning this trip!

Wow guys that is great that you both found some DVC using RCI!!! I just recently became an RCI member too and noticed a SSR in my searches for August. It doesn't show up anymore recently but I was just glad to see it. I am not interested in staying onsite but it's good to see the option offered from time to time. Have a MAGICAL time!!!!
