My apologies if this post is in the wrong section. If so, please move or delete it as necessary.

I transferred some DVC points over to RCI awhile back and they are expiring at the end of this year. I was going to use the pay to extend option but Member services informed me that is no longer an option since they are no longer partnered with RCI. They did tell me I could still book for others if I knew of anyone wanting to use them this month, or next month as long as they checked in by Dec 31st.

So my question is where is the best place to look for others who may want to use these points? Member services said these are technically still DVC points so I am assuming boards like this are the best option?

Thanks,

TDD

Our boards here do not allow for RCI trades. I am not well versed in the system, but there is something regarding RCI certificates and renting them.

I think you might get more support or info on the TUG boards, which deal with a lot more timeshares.

Thanks for the info. It is a bit odd because I still have to deal with DVC since RCI will not even see the points on their end, according the member services. This will teach me to procrastinate :rolleyes2

We also have some RCI points about to expire- don't even know how many, they were"rescue points" from during the pandemic. We have not used them as RCI is not very user friendly and I had no idea how to go about finding and booking something with them ! So I guess RCI will just have them and they will dissolve away lol.

There are plenty of RCI resorts that are close to WDW if you want to use them there. You can make a reservation for some one else with a guest fee.

I also dumped some of our rescued points into RCI and I tried countless times to figure out how to make a reservation with them and could never come up with anything. It's not a ton (80, maybe?), so I'm not super upset, but points are points. It's a shame, but alas.

Unfortunately, DVC had a block on RCI resorts within some distance of WDW - I think 30 or 50 miles. Could not use DVC points to trade into those resorts.

Did not know that. I would go for Williamsburg, VA then. Plenty of timeshares that trade into RCI and you can visit Busch Gardens which is currently having their Christmas Town event. It is not Disney, but it is pretty good and does not cost anywhere near what Disney costs. Their train is running right now and decorated with lots of lights. They play carols as it runs around the park.
