RBC credit card with no forex

A bit of a ruse. You don't pay Visa International Corp the 2.5% forex fee on US transactions. You do pay RBC a 2.5% forex fee if you transfer C$ into the US$ account to pay off your US$ Visa card. Same 2.5% but RBC gets to pocket it instead of Visa International.

These bundles do work well if you have a source of US$ income (say you rent out your vacation property is US$) and can deposit that directly into the US$ bank account.

The only real no Forex fee card I found left in Canada is the Marriott Premier Visa card. Annual fees are a bit steep (119$), but its waived the first year and then you get a certificate for a free hotel night at Marriott. Amazon used to offer the best card... but as of April 2017, does not take new applicants anymore.
