Ratio of winning SITS MERGED

I rode 8 times got 6 pins and 5 coral magics. I think the pins are predetermined if you win or not. Because standing there yesterday a total of 4 people including myself pulled out the sword in a row. So personally I think it just depends on your pin.
Reminds me of the Treasure Detecting Magic:)

I have always said that sword hates me.

Yesterday I rode, I don't know how many times. I got about 20 sword pins. I pulled 1x.

- sigh -

Out of all of the times I have ridden since the rides opened, I've won maybe 10 SITS pins, and it was only a few days ago when we had to ride Peter Pan for a host quest that I actually pulled the sword out. One pin in how many months? As such, I haven't been trying yet for Coral magic, because I'm jaded and think I have bad luck. All of you seem to be getting at least one tho, so maybe I'll give it a try today.

I rode the Pan ride 60 times yesterday. I didn't keep track of how many times I got the Sword in Stone pin, just how many times I pulled out the sword and received the coral pin: 10 times.

So my experience yesterday was: it took me an average of 6 rides in order to get 1 coral magic pin.

There is a randomness to it, so of course, everyone's experience will be different. :wizard:

Now here's the other question - do you use each SIS magic pin right after you get it, or do you stock up and use a lot of them at one time?

I usually do the latter, and have fairly good luck with pulling the sword more than once. However, yesterday morning when I was just trying to get one last Coral Magic, I did the former...and had a terrible winning ratio.

On Sat. I rode the Dark rides this is what I got
32 rides
21 Sword pins
10 Coral.
I ride pan then Alice
I use the pin right after I get it BUT I watch and wait for at least 2 people to miss before I use mine.

In my opinion, I think that waiting for somebody to fail in pulling out the sword before you attempt to is more superstition than a help.

There are two possibilities (most likely) of how the sword pin can be programmed:

1) The instant you receive the pin, it is determined to be winning or a losing one.
2) Or, when you use the pin, the VMK program calls a random number generator and determines whether or not you pull the sword out or not.

In the first case, it obviously wouldn't matter when or where (which room) you use the pin. It is predetermined to lose or win.

In the second case, it wouldn't matter if you waited to see someone else lose because as they say, "Past results are not indicative of future returns." What this means is that every time you attempt to pull the sword, you have an equal chance of pulling it out. It doesn't matter who attempted to before you, or even if you just attempted the magic a second ago. Think of it as flipping a coin. You have an equal chance of it coming up "heads" each time you throw it. The coin doesn't "know" what happened last time.

A final note. There is an extremely small possibility that it could be programmed to give out a win every 3rd try, etc. However, in my experience, this is simply a hassle to program and is unnecessary overhead. For you techies, it would mean that yavn would have to write procedures to store the current win state of the pin (for everyone), introduce file locking so no two users would flip the value at the same time, and even more. They almost assuredly aren't doing this. I'd bet my life on it. (I've been building up my immunity to Iocane powder for months now.)

The more you know...

I pulled the pin immediately on saturday because I wanted 5 star and didnt want to ride a single time more than I had to :rotfl:

I felt I had a 1/3 ratio of success, I dont think it matters one way or the other.

Okay... I feel that I have to update my status. I am the proud owner of a 5* salad magic! :cool1:

My "trick"? I stock pile my sword pins and use them all at once, trying to be the only 1 pulling the sword in my instance 1 right after the other.

I could not find a hard and true "pattern," but each batch of pins I was bound to win at least once. I stopped counting how many rides and swords, but in the end - ***** :)

It took like 12 hours to get what I have I have 1X 5 star pin and 14X 1 star pins

I rode 6 times, got a pin every time, and pulled the sword 3 times.

I guess the chances are quite random, but not to bad for a short nights work.

They up the chances of winning, I believe, on this and Nov. non-tradable months' pins. They make it non-tradeable so the naive can't be taken advantage of, but also make it easy to obtain unlike the beginning pins. With about 10 rides tonight i got 5 pins and 2 magic. Thanks for making it easy VMK.

Within 30 minutes or so I got 5 pins and 3 worked :D

hmmm my trick is use the wand on the right side of the sword

Well, last night I had 16 SIS pins, and successfully pulled the sword out 6 times. I also made sure I was the only one in the lobby to more accurately determine what my winning percentage was.

I'll be keeping track of my progress most of the month to see if I can glean an general winning percentage.
