Rates at deluxes for December - any chance of going lower?

On the WDW site for early December I'm getting per night rates of $373 for Cont. tower, $266 Cont Wing, and $333 for Poly standard. That includes tax I think. Are these similar to rates that folks got this past december? I don't have an AP nor am a disney club member... I did apply for that disney visa today in case they throw something my way for December

Just wondering if they had any special packages or discounts this past Nov/December. I remember finding rates a couple of years ago or so for about $180/night for the Contemporary wing rooms. Just wishing I could get a lower rate for this time frame so I could stay in a deluxe!

Right now the only better rates I've found are AAA or DC -- if you are a member. But don't despair -- last year there were great code and AP rates released in August or September.... for the 1st two weeks of Dec. Problem is you won't know until later -- and I think a lot will depend on the economy and the Iraq situation.

Why not just book through DU (site sponsor) and let them keep an eye on the rates for you? That's the lazy way to do it!

For dates from 9-14-02 to 12-25-02, the codes were rumored to be out 7-8-02. They came out 7-22-02, with the AP codes following a week later.

I booked a moderate for $79 + tax. std room
WL and AKL were $119 + tax. std room

I may not be exact on these but I think the CR garden wings were close to $200, and the tower was $240 with the Poly and GF topping out at $279 (all + tax).

Do they every run codes for the week between Chistmas and New Years? I know that is holiday season, but I'm just playing around with ideas this far out.

In early Dec, 2001 (the week AFTER Thanksgiving), we got All Star Movies for $49/night!

In Dec, 2002 (again the week AFTER Thanksgiving), we got the Grand Floridian for $199/night!
