Either in a theater, on TV, or a DVD rental...

Hollywoodland.... loved the movie, hated the ending

Robin Hood... loved it and not sure why the critics hated it

Alice in Wonderland... liked it a lot

Burn After Reading... dumb, dumb, dumb... and I still don't understand what happened

Shutter Island... fabulous! One of the best movies I've ever seen.

Sex and the City 2...um. wow. bad, just really really bad. sadly so. I miss my girls and don't regret seeing it per se, but the writing/storyline was horrendous. there was so much bad about it that we spent most of the movie laughing at it or with our jaws literally dropped open in amazement. entertainment weekly was generous to give it a c-

The Blind Side...had seen it before in theatres, but rented it because dh hadn't seen it. it was fine. predictable, nothing earth shattering, but fine.

Iron Man 2...a fun popcorn movie. predictable, but filled the bill with what we were looking for that day.

Date Night...oh how I wanted to like this. love tina fey. love steve carell. but sometimes wanting to like something just isn't enough. I liked it better than my dh did, but it just fell flat. not as bad as confessions of a shopaholic or made of honor. I still want my time back for those. bad bad bad!

How to train your dragon...kids loved it. it was cute, but more for them than me.

writing all of this out makes me realize how long its been since I saw a movie I really liked and got excited by! hoping that trend changes soon. :)

All 5 of these were watched on international flights last week so I was a captive audience:

Invictus
Young Victoria
Leap Year
Extraordinary Measures
Crazy Heart

I thought Young Victoria was pretty decent; I would have been upset if I'd paid to see the other 4.

The Informant - Very confusing at times, not very good

Sex In the City - Corny story line, but I love my girls, not the best movie, but glad I saw it.

The Back Up Plan - Funny, I liked this one

The Last Song - A two-tissue movie, I really liked this one too.

Date Night - Was just okay, had some really funny moments though.

1. Iron Man 2 - 6.5 Hollywood trash, disappointment after the first was so good
2. Robinhood - 5.0 Russel Crowe plays...himself
3. Defendor - 9.0 yes with an "O", brilliant drama and humor in this quirky story
4. District 9 - 9.5 great unique sci-fi story that expands and pays tribute to classics of the genre
5. Transformers 2 - 3.5 even worse than the original.

Shrek Forever After -- It was cute enough. I did laugh at a few parts. But the last two were nowhere near as good as the first two.

Back-up Plan -- Was about what I expected. I appreciated the twin humor. I might watch it again if I saw it was on HBO.

Hot Tub Time Machine -- I can't believe I was actually disappointed by this one. As a child of the 80's, I just expected there to be more in-jokes. It was ok. The only reason I will ever sit through it again though is to see John Cusack.

How to Train Your Dragon -- I have balked at seeing movies in 3D and this was the first time we saw one in a theater in this format. I loved it. Way more than I expected to. It was predictable but funny and touching too. I actually got choked up more than once.

I can't think of what I saw before these 4. Maybe Slither on TV? It was a "horror" movie that was not the least bit suspenseful or scary. But it had Nathan Fillion in it. So I watched it.

These last five were on my netflix instant streaming (I love it!):

Blackout: 3 strangers trapped in an elevator with little to no hope of rescue. 4/5
Surgeon: Hospital drama, unapproved researcher has been jailed but breaks out to continue his research and an obsession with a female doctor. 2/5
Shakespeare in Love: humorous take on the writing of romeo and juliet without a muse. 4.8/5
Knock, Knock: teen scream with a killer hunting down teenagers and murdering them in a way that correlates to their parents jobs. 3/5

2012....Roland Emmerich must REALLY hate the world or something. Maybe he'll make a movie someday where the planet doesn't get blown up or attacked. This particular effort was hackneyed, silly and had every cliche in the book. I give it a C. The ffects were good.

Quantum of Solace...we watched the first Daniel Craig one only 3 months ago, and this film was a sequel. Not just a stand alone bond film like the others. I SWEAR I tried to follow the plot but I still have no idea what was going on. If not for 2 hours of staring at the hotness of Craig, I would have tuned out after 15 minutes. For Craig's buffness, I give it a B-.

Iron Man 2...FABU! Loved the whole thing. I could watch Robert Downey Jr read th phone book. I give it an A.

Sherlock Holmes....A little convoluted, but I loved the back and forth between Downey Jr and Jude Law. A solid B+.

Avatar...not just the regular version, this was the Rifftrax version (the guys from MST3K ripping on it). Hi-freakin-larious. I thought Avatar was great when I saw it in the theatre, but after watching Mike and the gand skewer it, I realized it was as stilted and hackneyed as 2012. Mr. Cameron, you silly silly man and your planet sized ego. Avatar itself...a C+....with Rifftrax A++

There you have it.

Robin Hood - I thought that it was too long, and just not that great. 6/10

Angels and Demons - I had already seen this, but it's still great. 9/10

Death At A Funeral - SO FUNNY, but not much to the plot. 8/10

I don't remember what movies I watched before those. It's been too long.

Sex and the City 2- I enjoyed it, not as much as the first one, but I still thought it was good.

Dear John- Loved it. I love Nicholas Sparks books and this one did not dissapoint.

The Last Song- Same as above. I thought Miley Cyrus was really good in it and liked seeing her in a more grown-up role.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs- Cute movie, but glad I did not spend money on it in theaters and just watched it on Starz for free

The Proposal- Hilarious. I have seen it so many times now I think I could recite the movie by heart.

Apollo 13 on Blu-Ray this afternoon, my fave Tom Hanks movie 10/10

Iron Man 2, loved it. Thought it was great and loved the in jokes about the other Marvel characters 9/10

Return of the Jedi, best Star Wars movie ever 10/10

Transformers 2, weak on plot and geography but high on entertainment 7.5/10

Can't remember what else I have seen recently.

first I have to remember the last 5 movies I have seen, LOL!

1. The Lucky Ones, just watched it on demand and I thought it was a pretty good movie.

2. Valentine's Day - cuter than I thought it would be

3. Zack and Miri Make a Porno - Not as good as Knocked Up, but still funny

4. Toy Story 2 - I am getting my DS ready to go see Toy Story 3, so we have this on in the car, I love it!! Can't wait to see #3!!!

5. The Blind Side - Surprised by how much I liked this movie, I was prepared to hate it.

Alice (SyFy)- Loved it and I now have a crush on Andrew Lee-Potts (Hatter)

Iron Man 2- Pure fun

Boondock Saints 2- Loved it but got a little confused, so background into the first movie does not hurt.

Inglorious *******s- Actually liked it and I have a crush on eli roth after seeing the DVD.

Alvin and the Chipmunks The Squeakquel- Cute for a kids flick and was suprised to hear Dr.Reid from Criminal Minds as a voice!

Singing in the Rain - Watched it again last night so my DS11 could see it for the first time. Awesome as always!

Princess and the Frog - Very cute, very Disney.

New Moon - Not bad, not great, but not bad.

Alice in Wonderland - Liked it a lot.

Godzilla (the 1998 version) - Pretty bad. OK really bad but my boys were watching it on a Saturday morning and it was like a train wreck. I could not look away.

I must preface this by saying I do not enjoy anything slightly stressful. I do not like to be stressed while relaxing with a movie. Also... as you'll see from my list, I have 2 sons.

Sherlock - JUST watched it. LOVED the cinematography and the banter between Sherlock & Watson. A bit stressful, especially the second to last scene.

Cloudy w/ a chance of meatballs - I didn't even finish watching it.. held my son's attention. Glad we didn't pay to see it. I adore the book.

Up! - We've seen it before, but it was on tv and son wanted to watch it. I liked it enough to watch it a second time.

Chipmunks the Squeakquel - sons loved it. It was cute.

The Time Traveler's Wife - Book is immeasurably better. Not my kind of movie -- too stressful, friends picked it. I usually don't read that sort of book either as I knew it'd be sad, but it was SO. GOOD.

Avatar - This is very pretty movie with appealing characters and a great battle scene. I did find it to have a predictable plot though.

Princess and the Frog - I couldn't get into this and got bored a few times. It's a better Disney animation effort than many lately though.

Legion - silly movie with silly premise. I did like the actors who played the angels though.

Daybreakers - interesting premise with weak execution. Ethan Hawke was alright but the other actors were way over the top.

The Lovely Bones - disturbing movie with good acting. I can't say I liked it but I'm glad I watched it.

1. The Labyrinth. 6/10, kind of weird, kind of boring.
2. Jurassic Park. 10/10, my favorite movie of all time.
3. Harry Potter POA. 9/10, I still dislike how these movies tend to miss some key parts.
4. Zombieland. 10/10, LOVE this movie, I wish there was more though... I heard there's going to be a Zombieland 2 though.
5. Watchmen. 2/10, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Last five movies:

The Others -- spooky ghost story w/Nicole Kidman and some very good supporting actors/actresses -- 4-stars a must-see -- one of my fav movies

St. Elmo's Fire -- ah, the 80's -- great movie -- love the theme song

Jane Eyre -- w/Anna Paquin, Charlotte Gainsbourg and William Hurt -- pretty good -- the book is better.

Aquamarine -- watched it with my 5 year old DD -- Sara Paxton and Jo Jo Levesque are really good in this movie -- I enjoyed it -- the guy who plays Raymond is HOT, HOT, HOT

Twilight - New Moon -- mmmmmmmmmmm.....Edward Cullen....yummmmmmmy (I'm 41 years old, but it's okay to drool over him because he's like 90-something in the movie, right?) :thumbsup2

The Terminal - LOVED it! I'm surprised I waited so long to see this! A

Coco avant Chanel - I thought it was a little boring, confusing and dragged on a little too long, then it wrapped up WAY too quickly. C

Iron Man 2 - The nerd in me really, really enjoyed it. Yeah, it was predictable and really obvious, but I loved it. A-

The Young Victoria - Kind of enjoyed it, I love Emily Blunt and the costuming so I think I'm giving it a bias. B

Death at a Funeral - (The original English version) Hilarious! I didn't think it would be so funny, but I was so wrong! Defiantly one of my favorite movies now! A
