Quick question..if I were to book a resort at a certain rate for August through Disney and say a month or two from now the rate drops, will Disney do a price adjustment? TIA!

yes, if any special offer comes up, they won't do a "price adjustment" but they will "re book" the same room and resort for a cheaper price

You'll have to see if a room is available for the new rate. If so, yes, you can change the reservation. If not, then no, you can't. It doesn't matter if it was already paid off. The issue is availability of discounted rooms.

People often have the misconception that they can "apply" a discount to their reserved room, but what really occurs is the change of your reservation to a different, discounted room (even if it's in the same resort & category), which must be available for this change to occur. Keep in mind that the more rooms that are booked in advance at rack rate, the fewer rooms they will discount.

To make it clear, this is something you have to take the initiative to do yourself. It doesn't happen automatically and depends on availability.
