Hi Everyone!
Is Rango a good movie? Are there any good deals for it out there?
Thanks!:goodvibes

there were many people who did not like that movie at all. I have 2 girls (17 and 11 years old) who love reptiles and they loved the movie

We are amongst those who did not like it either. In honesty, we didn't even stay to the end. Was a huge dissappointment for me.

My boys 8 and 10 liked it. My DD age 5, didn't. I didn't think it would EVER end. The movie is around 2 hours long and painful to watch in my opinion. I don't think I have ever been to a movie that I felt this way about.

Just my 2 cents :goodvibes

Watched this last week and we all really enjoyed it:rotfl:

Went to the $1.50 show on half price Monday - so 75 cents each - and I felt ripped off. :rolleyes1

Just watched it last night at a free movies under the stars in our local park. Let's just say I was glad we didn't pay for it. Kids liked it, we didn't. I like kid movies normally, not this one. Most of it didn't make sense. There were also a few scenes that had some language that wasn't really necessary. I mean this was a cartoon and a family film.

We rented it yesterday and couldn't even finish it. The kids were bored and it failed to hold the adults interest as well.

You may want to rent it at Redbox for $1 before paying $15-$20 to own it.

I thought it was one of the worst movies that I have seen. Not worth the $ we paid for it at all!!!

I haven't seen it yet, but Safeway has it for $11.99 plus you get some freebies with it. A juice, popcorn and I think a candy bar...

We are going to see it an about an hour at the dollar movie. I've read horrible reviews here on the disboards, but the tomatometer on rottontomatoes.com gave an 88% approval rating, and the audience gave a 77% approval rating. Those are pretty decent reviews for something people don't seem to like (on this board, anyway).

Well, we are going to give it a shot since the reviews are good. DH says it will be his nap time anyway, so if the movie is bad, he'll at least get his nap in!

We are back from the movie. All of us enjoyed it! I was not bored in the least and was able to follow the plot quite easily. I loved the Clint Eastwood tie-in, too!

Maybe it's just that we are in the desert in the middle of a drought and can relate to having a water shortage. I don't understand why the bad reviews here though. No, little kids would not be able to follow it and there are a couple of bad words, but it's not rated G, it's PG.

We frequently go to the movies. My boys love going (4 & 5) and this is the only movie they've ever asked to leave! I agree about the language. I thought it was pretty bad-at least for my kids. Maybe older kids won't seem so bad. Regardless, everyone that went with me disliked it quite a bit. I think the Redbox would be a good idea. Watch it before you spend the money to buy it.

Exactly how I felt about it. I wanted to like it, but.........I just didn't. My 12 year old had begged to watch it, when we left he said "Well, at least you didn't waste money on popcorn to go with it." It was THAT bad. It isn't even just a boring movie to adults. The whole thing made little to no sense.

Most movies, even if I don't LOVE them, I can find something to enjoy. This was like a movie about paint peeling.

There is an explanation for this -- while the movie was critically acclaimed (largely, for the animation and Johnny Depp's voice acting), it isn't a Disney-style production -- hence, it won't pass muster on the DIS for that reason, alone.

Furthermore, given the movie's "PG" rating, it's not a film I would be taking my 5 year-old to (just saying).

Quite honestly, I would feel the same way (nap).

For OP: If this is a must-have, the best deal I've seen is for the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy and can be found right here (a $5.00 off coupon will be applied at checkout).

Everyone's answers cracked me up:lmao: - I think I'll pass on this snoozer until I can just borrow it from one of my friends or something- lol...Thanks Everyone!!!

I liked it, if you go to rango coupon dot com (no spaces) you can print out a $5 off coupon.

Target had the Blu Ray for $22, and the Spongebob Squarepants movie for $15, if you bought both, they took $8 off, and with the coupon it came out to about $25 after tax.

So just because it wasn't a Disney-style type of movie people here on disboards don't like it? I see good reviews here for all kinds of non-Disney movies.

Well, we all thought it was good. It made complete sense and was very easy to follow. I guess to each his own. I can see how a 5 year old would not enjoy it, but I don't think it was intended for such a young audience. What a boring world it would be if we all liked the same things. :hippie:

DS6, DD8, DD10 loved the movie. I thought it was god-awful and only half watched after about 15 minutes. DW watched it all and said it wasn't that great. But all-in-all, I didn't rent it for me. I rented it for the kids so if they liked it, then I'm happy.
