Random BLT questions...

Where is the laundry room(s) at BLT? Is there only 1? I'm only staying 2 nights in a studio before moving to a 1BR at BWV, but I might want to do a load of laundry before moving. I requested a high floor so if it is too inconvenient, I'll just wait.

Also, is there a workout room at BLT? If so, where? Are there elliptical machines? I'm probably too ambitious to think about keeping up with my workout on vacation.

Is the pool open 24 hours? I know that the lifeguards generally go home at 10pm, but is the pool still available for swimming? What about the hot tub(s)?

That's all for now....I still have 90 days to think of more...

The laundry is on the first floor just off of the north elevator bank. It was usually empty.

Also, is there a workout room at BLT? If so, where? Are there elliptical machines? I'm probably too ambitious to think about keeping up with my workout on vacation.

Olympiad Fitness Center

Olympiad Fitness Center is located on the third floor of the Contemporary Tower. This spa and salon offers massage therapy, skin care and body treatments, saunas and the latest in fitness equipment including free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, bicycles and stair climbers. Lockers are available.

Staffed from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. the facility is accessible 24 hours a day and is available to Guests of Disney's Contemporary Resort 14 years of age and older. Guests 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Is the pool open 24 hours? I know that the lifeguards generally go home at 10pm, but is the pool still available for swimming? What about the hot tub(s)?

It turns out the pool does have hours of 7:00 am to midnight, but the slide is closed unless a lifeguard is present. The hot tub is open too. You'll need your KTTW card to get into the pool area. Maybe these photos will answer some of your questions.

We easily did a load of laundry while staying in a studio. We stayed in the villa while the clothes were washing and drying. But you could hang out at the pool while the laundry is going.

Thanks everyone!

I'm taking DSiL for her first trip to WDW and this will also be my first stay at BLT. We land at MCO around 3:30pm and we are planning on heading straight to DHS for the 8pm Fantasmic show, after DME to BLT. The next day, we are doing Chef Mickey's for breakfast at 7:30 followed by a day at the AK. Then, Boma at 5:15pm for dinner. After that, we're headed back to BLT to hopefully see the 8pm Wishes from the TOTWL. The next day, we have a 7:30 breafast at The Wave followed by a day at Epcot. That is also the day we are checking out and switching to BWV. So, as it stands right now, we aren't really going to have a lot of opportunity to explore all that BLT has to offer. But, since plans can change, I figured I would find out as much as I can.

Just grab the plastic laundry bag from the closet, stuff the dirty clothes in it and take them to your one bedroom villa where you will have a washer and dryer in your villa. Why bother with the laundry room after two nights when you have your own on the third night?

Hopefully you'll get a good dryer at BWV, ours was horrible. It literally took like 2.5 hours to dry a load. We actually took a couple of wet loads down to the laundry room to dry them. We had just gotten off a one week cruise prior to the BWV stay and we're out of alot of things and couldn't wait the time it would take to dry them in the unit's dryer.
