My fitness club finished its "90day Challenge" today with a 5K Run (it kicked off with a 5K Run back in April). I was excited for this run because I have made a lot of progress since April and I wanted to show that to my Trainer today.

I was really hoping for a new PR today. I started out pretty fast at a 10:00 pace -- a little too fast I think -- but soon settled into an average 11:00 pace. There were a lot of ups and downs on this course that were a challenge. But I was pleased to only have taken two 1-minute walk segments today.

I finished with a 33:50 time! That was MAJOR given that my original April time was 40:41. And it was a real boost to have a fellow WISHer MotoMiker there at the finish to cheer me across the line!! I had the pleasure of meeting his wife as well (who is running a Triathalon on Sunday! How awesome is that?!!)

A great day so far -- lost 1.2lbs at my Weight Watchers meeting at 7AM, and then setting a new PR at the 9AM race! Now it is time for a cold shower, a good breakfast, and a relaxing weekend!

Its not going to be too long and your 10 minute pace will feel slow and you will wonder how you ever ran 11..

Wow! Congrats on the great PR! That's an awesome improvement. You should be proud!

Fantastic Rick! A PR, a weight loss and running a 5K with a friend! Sounds like it was a great morning! Keep up the awesome work :)

Cool! You should be proud. That is a great accomplishment.

I actually started running a few years ago because I wasn't losing as much weight as I wanted in Weight Watchers. Exercise is the key. Lifetime member for over 3 years now.

Keep going,as Charles said, next year 10 min miles will be recovery runs.

enjoy,
Duane
