Hi all - my mom had recent surgery and will be renting an ECV for our upcoming trip next month. I had read on the Transportation Board - maybe a couple of months ago - that there will be some construction on the ramp of the MK ferry during our timeframe. I believe it said that wheelchair users and people with ECV's wouldn't be able to use it during this time. I've searched but can't find the thread - can anyone confirm if this is the case? It would be helpful as we plan our transportation options. Thanks!

I can't find anything about that either. I have not herd about it ,but maybe someone that has been recently can reply. If you are talking about the ferry that takes you into the park, then you can take the monorail instead and this should not cause a big problem with your plans

The original thread was from January; this is a link to the disABILITIES Board thread that discussed the options that would be likely during the construction.
.
THere was a link in post one of that thread, but the thread it was linked to was closed. I have not seen anything on the Transportation Board about the construction - when or whether it was started or ended.

If you are staying on site, it is usually going to be easier to use the bus service from your resort to MK, even if you drive to the other parks. The buses will deliver you right to the park. If you drive, you will park in the lot and then have to take the monorail or ferry to get to the same area that the buses drop people off at.

Thanks for the replies and the link. Our last trip, my mom was pre-surgery and renting an ECV as well. We were staying at the Polynesian, and she found it easier to jump on the ferry to the TTC instead of going up the MK monorail ramp, where it was much more crowded and easier to bump into people as she was still getting the hang of driving it. I guess this time we'll try and plan our exit from the MK so we don't leave with the masses after the fireworks in the evening.
