ramada plaza gateway??

Anyone ever stayed at the ramada plaza gateway or the renaissance world gateway in orlando? I am thinking about staying at one of these for my 7 night trip in either march or may!! thanks!!

We stayed at that Ramada about 3 years ago. We got a pretty good rate with the Orlando Magicard - I think it was about $60-65 per nite incl. taxes for a poolside room with queen beds and a dorm-size frig. We thought it was fine for the price (and you might do better on the price if you go thru hotelkingdom.com). We didn't actually use either of the pools but the courtyards where they were located were very nicely landscaped - very lush. The drive to and from the parks was not bad either - you take a right out of the parking lot and it's about 10 - 15 minutes to the MK parking lot. The hotel also was gated with a security guard on duty everytime we went in and out. I would definitely stay there again. HTH.

I checked out the Ramada Plaza Inn Gateway, and would NEVER stay there. I won a bid through Priceline and was in Orlando, so I scoped out the place, and immediately contacted Priceline for a refund of my money. This place is straight out of the 50's motel era. The grounds were unkempt and the room that I looked at was dark enough to make me think of a cave. Priceline rated this a two and a half stars, but the hotel wanted to charge another $20 a night for an upgrade to the "tower" rooms. Priceline refunded my money because of this. I believe there are many other properties worth considering besides this one.
