I am a newbie and glad I signed up. This site is awesome with great info and insight.

I didn't see a forum about our favorite hotel, Ramada Maingate. We have stayed here for many years. We visit about 2x a year. We loved the value and service, but recently stayed in an upgraded room on thew 4th floor. These rooms are beautiful with bigger TV's and new everything. You pay a small upgrade fee of around $20, but it is well worth it. You can see the fireworks perfectly, as well. We will stay in these rooms for now on. I was told by some employees that they have just finished another floor of these rooms. So, if you wantr the newest rooms, request 2nd floor. If you want tne best view of fireworks, request 4th floor.

Thanks for the recommendation! Just started thinking about a first trip to DLR, possibly this fall, so I'm very curious about hotel options. I'll be keeping this one in mind. :thumbsup2

Don't get it confused with Ramada Anaheim Convention Center though!!
That place is an absolute dive and filthy!! I booked through Hotwire and though - mistakenly - that since it was a Ramada it would be OK. Gross.

I'm glad to hear this! We've booked a 3 rm family suite at the maingate for august! I've heard great things and they're right accross the street from DCA entrance!

Does this hotel have a free breakfast?

If you don't mind saying -- what price per night are you paying? I know their website says to call for rates but I just haven't done that yet. :)

The 3 Room suite is $135 per night for the week we're there. It includes parking. I'm not sure if it included breakfast.

It was comparable to the 2 room prices at the Desert Inn and suites so we decided for the extra room we'd upgrade a bit with 2 bathrooms and an extra room.

I'm staying here for the 3rd time in 3 weeks.

It has a pretty nice pool as well. I like the fact that it has an almost zero depth entry on one end of the pool. It's nice having a really shallow area for the little ones to play in, and a deep end for the big kids!

HEY! I just noticed you are from Lake Stevens too!! My kids go to Skyline and LSMS!

What a small world!

ricko19 -- Too weird. We are Skyline Explorers too!

Just started K -- we have Palmer because of the bus schedules she is the only afternoon class this year. I have heard amazing things about Kusler and maybe my youngest will get him. Judy Palmer is great too -- very gentle and really into art & science which my daughter LOVES!

letitsnow -- check out this map for ideas on distances:

We stayed there last September and loved it too - never stay anywhere else - we were on the 3rd floor in a new room and it too had a great view of everything actually !

The website does state free continental breakfast. I just checked for my dates and they only have 2 queens available.

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely be looking into this for our next trip later this year! The prices are good considering what we'll be paying at the Desert Inn & Suites for a suite!!!

We used to stay there as well. Very nice place! The only issue we had ever had was pool noise, but that doesn't really bother me on vacation..people are having fun :)

Thanks for the review.

A couple questions.

1. How was the breakfast?

2. Do they charge for parking?

3. How are the non-premium rooms? Are the beds comfy?

Thanks in advance,

Barbi

Yes free parking.

Breakfast is okay.

I like the beds.

I always stay there.

Good price and good location. I've stayed the DL Hotel and it seemed to be the same distance.

Nancy you should call them cause on the internet search the 3 room didn't come up for us either just the 2 queens but it was available when we called!

There is a sort of food court there? What do they offer to eat and is it any good?

I was thinking we could grab something to eat there one evening before heading back to the park after our nap.
