Asking for a friend - they have rooms at these hotels for about $45 a night....tripadvisor has both good and bad reviews and they don't know what to believe. I have always said take tripadvisor with a bit of a grain of salt, because it could be the 'competition' posting roach motel stories (unless there are several).

Anyone stayed at one of these? Just looking to see if they are in fact clean. They are on a strict budget and the price works well (not having luck with priceline at this point due to busy season).

We stayed at the Super 8 on katella last april. It was fine. It seemed clean to me. The furniture seemed fairly new. I had some issues with them but I would probably stay there again if it was cheap enough. My biggest issue was that we reserved a fridge because DS has a special diet so I have to bring food for him and when we got there they told me that we couldn't have the fridge because someone else needed it for medicine. They only have one fridge i guess?:confused3 I don't know. I understand someone needing it for medicine but had I known ahead of time I would have planned different food for DS. We had to keep our things on ice in the cooler during our stay.

The other issue was the clock was broken and was giving the wrong time and then eventually started flashing and i never could get it to stop. And the lady at the front desk wasn't very friendly.

The free breakfast was fine (cereal and donuts). I brought my own cereal and used their milk, bowls and spoons so that worked out well. I liked that they had free parking and I liked that it was still within walking distance (barely). We had DS in a stroller and it wasn't too hot outside so it was no problem walking the distance. And I liked that it was next to the GardenWalk. We had dinner over there on our first night.

Hope that helps!
