Rainy day

If it's a complete washout of a day and you don't want to be outside at all, I'd sleep in and just book a brunch maybe at a resort you'd like to see. Or do some exploration of your resort if you haven't already.

Do you have a car? Maybe head to one of the Disney outlets or if you don't mind getting a little wet, head to disney springs. We've shopped in non stop drizzle and some downpours and it wasn't horrible. Kept some of the crowds away.

We don't do a no park day but we would probably choose some resorts to scout out for future visits and probably spend some time at Disney Springs with an umbrella.

If you do not want to stay in your room, which we don't. Rainy days usually make the best park days, less crowded and would be able to get on rides with less wait times. Or you can resort hop if you want to visit other resorts. Pools are still open as long as there is no lightning, I never understood people not wanting to swim when it's raining, you're already wet:)

Spend some time in the arcade at your resort. Depending on where you are staying places like Wilderness Lodge have a hidden Mickey Hunt. Ask about it at the concierge desk.

Look at the resort activities list and see if there are any going on in the morning. Tour other resorts. We usually go to Disney Springs if we have a half day free which rarely happens since my trips are so short.

For a non park day - I'd head to Disney Springs to Splitsville and maybe a movie.

Parks are nice and not as crowded on rainy days, but if you’re not wanting to do that, I agree with the resort hopping the monorail rail resorts. Mostly inside, and you would be near FW for your ADR.

See if you can find activities at other resorts you would be interested in - no reason why you have to confine yourself to only your resort. I will preface by saying we did plan on going to a QS dinner at AKV years ago with the hopes we could explore that resort a bit in the process. That's a no - you can't go anywhere but the restaurants in AKV unless you are staying there. IOW - you might want to cal ahead and ask before making the trek.

Interesting. We have done that many times in the past and just last June my DW and DD did it at a couple of resorts. Just told the guard they were coming for lunch and to shop etc. In the past 15 years we have only been denied at BW and FW because their parking was at full capacity.

Yeah, we were specifically looking to get to an area where you could view the wildlife. I've never stayed at AK so maybe just doing it wrong, but we were trying to get up to the viewing area on the elevator and couldn't get on the elevator without a MB for AKL.

Sorry, the post made it sound like they did not let you into the resort, my bad. We have stayed at AKL twice and never had to use our MB to use the elevators, unless you are trying to get to their CL, which is only for those CL guests. AKL has a bunch of viewing balconies off the first and 2nd level, plus you are able to go outside and look at the animals from there. Better luck next time:)
