I'm supposed to go to Disneyland this Friday, for my birthday, and the weather reports are predicting rain!!!

Should I change my plans or go anyway. Has anybody ever been there in the rain???

Oh, and yeah, it's my 43rd birthday and I'm going to Disneyland...

Thanks!!!

Lisa

Go for it. We went last year with rain forecast for the entire weekend. It ended up just drizzling, we bought rain poncho's and had a great time. The rain forecast kept the crowd away, so we felt like we were the only ones in the park.

We made two trips to DL and both times it rained. Both times in the morning only. We had a wonderful time. It was dry by afternoon and we had a Dinsey day

I'd definately say you should go. Most of the rides are inside, so rain wouldn't be much of a problem. Just take a poncho with you and have a great birthday!

Hey, you're in my neck of the woods! Anyways, my vote is to go as well. Who knows? If it does rain, hopefully the crowds won't be too bad. Regardless, have a happy birthday!

Love the rains at DL. If it starts befor the gates open you'll see minimal lines to get and the same for the rides. If it starts later, you'll see people heading for the exits. I've had my best experiences there when it rained. Go for it!

I agree..go in even if it rains. The crowds are way down! When we were there last month it rained in the morning two of the days but cleared up and was beautiful in the afternoon. :wizard:

I am going to DL on this Friday too! It's for me and my wife's 5 year wedding anniversary.
Yeh, the weather is looking bad. It's now 100% chance of showers. And it looks like it will rain from sunrise to sunset (found this info on weather(dot)com)
My suggestion is that you stay home while we enjoy an empty park!

Don't forget to go to City Hall in the morning and get a birthday sticker!!! Cast members will wish you Happy Birthday all day. I went last weekend to celebrate my 26th, and having the sticker was so much fun. Enjoy Disneyland and the rain! :wave2:

Thanks everybody -- it looks like we're going! I was happy to hear positive reinforcement.

Okay, I'm off to Target to pick up some ponchos and film!!!

And if you get over to DCA, do the Tortilla Factory tour and the Bread Factory tour. Each is only about five or ten minutes, and if you or someone you're with points out to a CM that it's your birthday, you'll get a full package of fresh tortillas, and supposedly a loaf of bread although I didn't get that one. I did, though, get a "special" license from Autopia that entitled me to a free gift at the gift shop there, and one CM gave me an any-attraction-except-Space-Mountain FastPass, and...oh, right, when I went to dinner at Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian, the host gave me an actual birthday pin (as opposed to a sticker), and um, oh yeah, by getting to DisneyLand really early and waiting outside the gates and telling EVERY CM who came close that it was my birthday and my age and HOW badly I wanted to be the first one in the park that day - I and a family of four were chosen to open the park, meaning we got to stand inside the gates and count down to opening with the probably several hundred Guests still waiting outside, and with the CM who chose us. Oh, and we got "Honorary Citizen - Disneyland" stickers too, but those don't mean as much to other people as the birthday sticker does :)

DL is the BEST in the rain! You'll have a blast if you don't mind getting wet! Rain makes rides like Splash Mtn. more fun anyway. The only thing you might want to think about is that it's been kind of chilly here at night, so bring some warm clothes, especially if you are planning to get wet... :)

have fun!

I know you're already going - but had to pop in and say - we absolutely love the parks in the rain!!!!!! Some of our best memories there are on rainy days - and the crowds are NIL!!!! So much fun! :cool1:

It did rain.....
it was drizzling all night. We were fairly soaked by the end of the night!
But Fantasmic and the Fireworks were on! :cool1:
So I hope you did go, and didn't let the rain keep you away!

Unfortunately you couldn't see most of the fireworks because of the clouds. You could see stuff on and behind the castle and some of the lower fireworks, but all of the high stuff was pretty much obscured. They also didn't do the snow after the fireworks.

I loved Disneyland when it was raining. I had the place to myself.

The smartest thing I did when in Disneyland on this day was wear shorts, not pants. With the shorts, my legs got wet, but my legs dry off quickly. If I had had pants, they'd have gotten wet, and then I'd have had wet, cold fabric pressed up against my legs for the rest of the day.

Well, we went and had a great time! Like the previous poster said, it didn't start raining until after 5:00 and it was never more than a drizzle really. We were prepared -- I wore nylon warm-ups so they dried very quickly and I had bought ponchos for everybody. The one surprising thing was that it was still pretty crowded.

I'm so glad I decided to go despite the rain!
