We booked our ADR's in December for our June trip - I read since that Rainforest in DTD and T-Rex is now available on DDP - missed the boat with T-Rex as its now all fully booked for dinner, but chose Rainforest on our arrival day - booked online but it says on the resarvation that this restaurant does not participate in the DDP - is this old news? Which is right?

Is the AK Rainforest also on DDP, if so?

There was availability at T-Rex but at weird times like 3.30pm - is this restaurant much better than Rainforest - worth switching for?

Yes it is old news. Both Rainforest Cafes, and T-Rex, are now on DDP.

For the DTD locations for both of them call them directly to make your reservations and I bet you can get one. That is what we had to do because only times like 2:45 and 3:30 came up. Called and was able to get one with no problem. :thumbsup2

Both Rain Forest Cafes and T-Rex are definitely on the plan. We like Rain Forest, but if I had to pick between the two, I would do T-Rex - my kids flipped over T-Rex. As the pp stated, call the T-Rex restaurant directly and book as they usually have much more availability than on-line through the Disney site.

Food's relatively nasty at both places, better of spending the same amount of money at a better restaurant.

Rainforest and T-Rex have decent food but I don't feel its a very good value if on DDP. There's too many other far better restaurants in WDW! Rainforest is a nationwide chain, nothing unique about it that can only be found at Disney. We tend to avoid restaurants we have at home. T-Rex is owned by the same corporation.

We had a fun, yummy lunch at RF at AK last month. We had done RF many times before when traveling and at WDW before the DDP. We knew our little one would enjoy it so we booked an early lunch there. Food was quite good. We had steak, shrimp and rib combos. The table next to us got smoothies for drinks but we were told any single serve drink and did not push it. We shared the volcano for dessert (3 adults to share). Service was great and the food was about as good as most other 1 credit places we ate during the week.

IMO, the 2 restaurants are like all WDW spots. It's what you order - some menu items are very good, some good, some not so good, & some awful.

In our experience at RF, the ribs, Rasta Pasta, & Pastalaya are excellent. I've heard the burgers are great. We didn't like the Stir Fry. They used to have a chocolate cake served with raspberry sauce (ask for lots more on the side) that was too good for words! Don't know if they still have it. Only problem - consistency with the Rasta Pasta. I like it very garlicy (which it is supposed to be); sometimes it is not. I like the sauce to be green - Alfredo + pesto (which it is supposed to be); sometimes the sauce comes out cream colored - Alfredo only.

Haven't been to TR.
