I called last night to make ADR's for our upcoming October trip. We are a party of 9. I wanted to make an ADR for RC in AK. I was told to call the restaurant directly for reservations for more than 8. I did this and things went smoothly. Except, they did not give me a confirmation number. He said my last name is my confirmation. He didn't ask for a phone number or anything like Disney Dining does.

Has anyone else done this? Did your reservation hold?

We made reservations at the RC in Downtown Disney... They did not ask for the usual Disney stuff either... But we did have a confirmation #.... We had no problem at check-in....I would call back and ask for a confirm # or at least ask person to double-check reservation to make sure it is there (just to be safe)...

One thing.... I am not sure why you were told the thing about larger parties... Every one has to call Rainforest directly to make ADR... Disney has nothing to do with it, no matter how big or small the party...

Not so. We eat at AK RFC every time we go. We make ADRs thru disney dining just as we do our other meals. This restaurant is not, however, on the disney dining plan and they make sure that you are aware of that when you book it. Seems like maybe the one at downtown disney doesn't take ressies though. Never eaten there, and I'm thinking that's why I always choose the one at AK.

I actually made a reservation for two adults at the DTD RC this morning (calling them directly @ 407-827-8500). They gave me a confirmation number and take reservations in May up until 11pm!

Yes, that is right, Downtown does not take ADR through Disney... Sorry for the mix up in locations.

I made reservations through Disney for the AK one about 1 month ago and we have 7.....strange.....

I can't imagine them just using your last name. Could be a lot of Smith's or Brown's there that day! Call back and confirm.

Thanks a lot everyone. Maybe I'll just call back and make a new ressie to get a confirmation number. I cannot remember who I spoke with. We've never eaten there, so really wanted to try it on this trip.
