Rainforest Cafe?

Are there 2 Rainforest Cafes? One in AK and the other in DTD? If so, which one is better? I know they are the same restaurant but there has to be something you like about one instead of the other. Is one bigger?

I went to the Rain Forrest Cafe at AK in july of 05' for my bday. It was great, i think it goes well with the theme of AK. It is also bigger than the one at DTD, and the one at AK takes ADR's. Either way, we loved Rain Forrest, the atmosphere is awesome!!I hope this helps.

Both RFCs take ADRs, but you have to call the DTD one directly (not done through Disney).

I have eaten at both several times and haven't really found a difference. The one in DTD is usually very crowded, and service can be slow. Maybe we have just eaten at peak times there and off times at AK??

It's a must do for us every trip because we don't have a RFC anywhere near us. I love the turkey wrap, and my son loves the pot roast. My husband never complains about eating there, and that is a huge compliment for him!

I agree! We love to eat at the Rainforest in AK because it just goes so well w/ the AK theme. Also, its a refreshing spot to eat lunch after a busy morning in AK.

We love RFC. We've been to both at WDW. It seems that's it's usually more convenient for us to go to the one Downtown. I love to go shopping before or after eating! I LOVE the pot roast! My four kids have a great time there and always like their food. It's so much fun! I shop through mypoints.com and so I usually have a $25 gift card for RFC when we go. It helps make it a little easier to feed 6! One time when we went to the one Downtown I had a horrible migraine. The server was so great about it and brought me a little soup and bread before he took our orders to try to help me out. Really great!

The one at AK was always a Rainforest and feels alittle bigger to me........ The one at DTD was something else originally and then Rainforest took it over and to me, the tables are much more crowded together. And with all the people waiting outside feels alittle more rushed. We have Safari card so we call ahead and have never waited a minute for our table. We just ate at DTD last month, but I think next time I will make it AK.

Reservation questions. Are they recommeded??? How long of a wait if you don't do reservations? We usually wait a good share of the day before we stop to eat-2:30-3:00. We are thinking AK. Do they take your gift cards without any problems? I have a lot of points built up in My Points and could get 50.00 in cards. How much can we expect for 5? Thanks so much!!!

I've never had a problem using a gift card at Rainforest Cafe. Two of my kids are teens so the bill can get kind of high. Boys can really eat! I'll have enough My Points for a $50 gift card next time we go! It's all because of the sales and free shipping at disneyshopping.com! I'd recommend having reservations. It can get pretty busy.

Thanks, I have enough for a 50.00 gift card too. I have 3 teenagers-2 of them are boys also. I fully expect it won't be cheap, but any guesses? About the price of a Red Lobster meal or more? How far in advance should we call for reservations? We aren't going until June 25-July 8 and haven't decided exactly which day we want to go to Animal Kingdom. Thanks for everyone's help!
