Rainforest Cafe Safari Club... how fast to get in?

We were in NJ the other day and ate dinner at the Rainforest Cafe there, so we got the Safari Club membership. I'm hoping to use the priority seating perk for when we're down in the World on either of our travelling days, but since those are more flexible day's, I'd prefer not to make an ADR. How long do you think the wait will be with the Safari Club?

Depends. It's suppose to be for the first table your size. I still waited 15-20 mins the last time. Beware of the party size. They said it only applies to parties <=6.

We have had our Safari Club Membership for over 10 years. I usually make reservations, but I will say that if I didn't, the longest wait I ever had was over 15 min. Have a great time.

in Orlando, they show you to the end of one of the lines inside which moves pretty fast. I would guess the no longer than 15 minutes mentioned above is correct. Sometimes in the summer the hard part is getting to the desk to show your card.

Great info, thanks so much! We only have 4 in our party, and I definitely don't mind a 15 minute wait - we often have that with a regular ADR anyway. :) Thank you!

Sometimes the wait to get to the podium is longer than what you have to wait inside. ;)
I don't think I have ever waited more than 15 minutes. Probably 5 - 10 minutes is usual.
And consider we have waited maybe 15 minutes, while walk up guests are being told 1.5 hours. :thumbsup2

I love my Safari card!!! I have frequent trips to WDW as a solo and rarely make any dining reservations until a couple of hours before dinner.

I can usually get in somewhere with no problem.

BUT, if I can't, at least with my Safari card I know that I can go to Rainforest or T-Rex and get a table shortly after arriving at the podium!!

A free appetizer doesn't hurt either!! :-)

Does the safari card work at both RFC and T-Rex?

What is this free appetizer you mentioned?

We have a RFC 20 minutes away and I was thinking about joining the club. Does anyone happen to know how it works? Price? Is it annual?

Thanks in advance:goodvibes

Don't know the price now, but it is a one time membership fee. ($15.00???). You get a free appetizer or 10% off your meal at Rainforest. You get priority seating with the card, which in most cases means once you get to the podium, they send you right to the tables. You also get periodic emails with $5 or $10 off meals or merchandise. You usually get a birthday email.

T-Rex allows the priority seating. Don't remember if they honor the free appetizer, but they do honor the 10% off.

Also Landry's and Joe's Crab Shack allows the card. So does Aquarium.

Ours the other day was $15 - considering it got us a free appetizer then and we'll get a $10 voucher in the mail, and another free appetizer when we go in DisneyWorld, I think it's worth it! Our waitress said it doesn't expire.

Wow, that does sound like a great deal, especially if it doesn't expire.

Do you get a free appetizer every time? If so, that would be amazing.

They have a dinner with Curious George in our location in March that my DS migh enjoy. They had a brunch with Santa last Sunday, but I think my DS is still too little to enjoy it. He loves Curious George though.

Thanks for the info!

Free appetizer every time. (The choice is limited.)

I know for a fact it doesn't expire. We've had our cards for 7 or 8 years +

Just noticed on the Landry website that Yak & Yeti is one of their restaurants. Do you think it works there too?

I'm signing up the next time I hit the Burlington Mall!

No, Yak & Yeti has declined to participate.

Beware...Burlington Mall (I assume you're talking burlington MA) does not go by the front of the line rule. If the wait is over 45 minutes, they take 45 minutes off your wait. So if it's a 1.5 hour wait, yous till wait 45 minutes. If it's under 45, you get sent right in. It's been that way for a while now...I've hit it a few times that our wait has been shortened by 45 minutes.

On the expiring. We were told if you don't use it annually, it becomes inactive and then you have to rejoin (and pay $15) this was when we got it. I've had it for probably 7-8 yrs now and we go at least 2-3 x a year here and 1x to trex or rfc in FL.

My nephews step father is the new Exec chef at the burlington one :) We went and saw him not too long ago. He trained at AK RFC for 6 weeks thru oct/nov.

Thanks for that heads up and yes Burlington, MA! I don't suppose you have done any of their special events? They had a brunch with Santa last weekend, but my son is too young. I was thinking about trying it next year. They actually had a sign up when I went the weekend before Halloween for Santa's brunch :scared1: so I guess it pays to call ahead.

They're doing dinner with Curious George in March that I might try and hit up.
