Does anyone know how this works? Looks like it costs $25 to join but they credit you $25 to use on first visit. We're planning on taking DD for her birthday. Can we use the $25 credit and the free Birthday dinner with the same visit? We don't live near the restaurant, would be going while at Downtown Disney. Wondering if it's worth signing up for. TIA!

Yup, you can use both! We love our membership as we usually hit up either WDW or DL for my birthday so that's $25 dollars off right there. I also find I can pick up cheaper Landry gift cards on Raise that we can then use at either Rainforest Cafe or T-Rex. My parents live close to Las Vegas so we like getting points or using gift certificates at the Golden Nugget which is owned by Landry Corp. The food isn't great at Rainforest Cafe or TRex, but not bad at the Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom.

Thanks so much! Will I be able to use my DDs info for the birthday dinner or does it have to be my birthday? She's only 12 so probably not old enough to be in her name.

They don't check your ID or anything for the birthday. Just set the birthday to be whatever you need it to be. My birthday is in August, but I told Landry's it was in November since that is when we usually travel to WDW.

Thanks! Wasn't sure if they sang to her or something. Sounds like a good deal then :)

Maybe it varies by location, but they required both my Rainforest/Landry ID card and Drivers License (or other id) for me to use mine in the Atlantic City location. Also the credit card used had to be the same name as the name on the Rainforest/Landry ID for any promotional discounts.

Thanks. Does that mean if I sign up with my name, they won't let my daughter get a free bday meal?

It's not a free birthday meal. You get a $25 birthday reward added to your Landy's club card, so the $25 just comes off your total bill.

They have never asked for any id or matching cc info at the Trex or either of the Rainforest Cafe restaurants when we go.

I have the birthday month set to November on my card because that's when we travel to Disney.

That's weird that you had to prove it was your birthday. Since you can only set one birthday a year, it doesn't seem like it would really matter to them when you said it was. They want you to use your birthday reward because it gets you in the restaurant and gets you spending money above and beyond the $25 they give you.

Now I'm confused. I thought you get a $25 credit and a free birthday meal. 2 different things. But it's just a $25 birthday reward?

Is it a $25 credit given in your birthday month to use on anything? Is it on top of a $25 credit for initially signing up?

You get a $25 Reward for signing up and you get a $25 Birthday reward added to your card to use in the month of your birthday. They can be used together, there is no birthday meal.

From the websites FAQ

Your $25 Birthday Reward will be automatically added onto your Landry's Select Club account on the first day of your birthday month. Birthday Rewards expire on the 15th of the month following your birthday month. Birthday Rewards can be deferred but will expire on the 15th if unused. If you register your account during the month of your birthday, your Birthday Reward will automatically be added to your account 24 hours after your account is registered. Birthday Reward may take up to 2 business days to be added for cards purchased online. Regardless of sign-up date, the Birthday Reward will expire on the 15th of the following month.

This is the info about the $25 reward for sign up under their FAQ

Once you have gone online and completed your account registration, your $25 Welcome Reward will automatically be added to your Landry's Select Club account within 24 hours. Welcome Reward may take up to 2 business days to be added for cards purchased online.

Rainforest cafe also has a separate email club you can join and I believe in my bday and "anniversary" of the day I joined I get something kid $x off or a free appetizer. Not sure if you can use those together with landrys rewards though. I do know if you stay at Hard Rock in Universal it earns points.

Have been rewarded many times since we first signed up at Rainforest in Disney. Have had a McCormick Schmicks in our area for several years and I always use my b'day reward there. Love it - don't really like Rainforest. Can't go wrong with a Landry's card!!

Wondering if it's worth signing up for
For me, the best benefit of the card is the priority seating. We walked-up without reservations to T-Rex and Rainforest on busy nights at Disney Springs, when they were quoting people 45-60 minutes waits, and were at a table in 10 minutes.

Nice! I signed up. Plan on being there on a Saturday night, so hope we get seated quicker too.

We did the samething. My DH asked "what just happened, how did we get in so fast when the line was over an hour." Even if we would not have gotten the $25 welcome it was worth not having to wait in a huge line with three little ones.
