Rainforest Cafe - DTD

Sure can. But you have to call them directly - you can't make them through Disney. I made mine 6 months out with no problem. :)

I thought you couldn't make them for here. I was always told no.

Disney Dining will tell you no because this one is not a Disney restaurant, but you can make reservations directly through the restaurant. In fact, I HIGHLY recommend it. When we were there last month, we walked right in with our reservation. Those without reservations were told it was a 2-hour wait.

:) That's odd, I have ADRs with confirmation #s for Rainforest Cafe at AK and for Fultons in DTD also not owned by WDW. Is it because the RC at AK is on park property? Does anyone know why the difference? :confused3

Well honstly I haven't been there in a couple of years and it was before dp. That's good to know.

The Rainforest in AK is run jointly by Disney and RFC...but the one in DTD is solely run by RFC. That's the difference.

If you have a RFC near you, be sure to sign up for their Safari Club (it's $15 a year, but you get a $10 gift certificate mailed to you with your permanent card, plus you get a free appetizer each visit). It also gives you priority seating....which means that if you DON'T make a reservation you'll not be at the end of the 2 hour waiting list....you'll go on a separate waiting list of Safari Club Members. We don't go in the summer, so I can't tell you if this works as well during very busy seasons, but when we went in Jan/Feb 2008, we were told it was a 90 minute wait....then I remember the Safari Club and suddenly it was a 20 minute wait. That alone was worth the $15, lol. Didn't try this at AK, so don't know if the Safari Club works there.

Only thing I didn't like is that the food is the exact same at home, but averages $4 more per entree. We all have our favorites so we know their prices, and every one of them was more expensive. We've been to RFC's in other states and not found this to be the case, only at Disney. So we've decided to go to RFC here at home the night before we leave and skip it at Disney....saving money, and having time to try another restaurant that we can't do at home.

This place is a lot of fun, the food is very good...but it's really really really noisy, so don't go there if you're looking for relaxing mealtime....it doesn't happen.

:) Thanks so much for the clarification Aribelle. I will have to look into the safari club. You are lucky to live near a Rainforest so that you can enjoy it through the year.
