Just wondered if anyone had done Rainforest Cafe for there after wedding dinner or rehersal dinner and opinions?

I'm having doubts...again. One day i'll decide. Lol. I've booked Portobello Yacht club but it seems a little pricey for what you get. Plus theres refurb going on and i've read back reviews.

I've thought about Wolfgang Puck, Rainforest Cafe or maybe somewhere in Epcot as were doing the fireworks in the evening. Any help would be great. I thought Rainforest has an amazing atmosphere that shouts Fun but i need food that suits lots of tastes. Meal time would be around 5pm.

you could also do the RF in Animal Kingdom, that might not be as busy as the one dowtown and they havd kind of a 'seperate' room, it steps down in the back

We are doing the rainforest cafe for the "rehearsal dinner'. We aren't having a rehearsal, but everyone wanted to get together to eat. There are only 12 of us, and the rainforest cafe is one of our favorite places to eat(plus its not on the dining plan which we will have after the wedding!). A lot of my family are planning on sharing since the portions tend to be extra large.

I think there are a lot of choices from a variety of areas that should suit just about everyone. I am a very picky eater, but there are several dishes that I love. My only fear is the noise level. It tends to be a bit louder in the rainforest versus other places. My grandparents are a little hard of hearing and are the type who like to have extensive conversations over meals. I think it will be a little difficult, but I'm still hopeful. Another thing was we might be split up. They didn't know if they would have enough room to seat us all together. We are going to the downtown one btw.

Our dinner is coming up Sunday. If you still have a while to decide I can let you know how it went!:cool1:

Rainforest is kinda loud depending on where they sit you. Did you think of maybe a character lunch/dinner? I LOVE the portabello yacht club. The food there is divine! I was thinking that I needed to eat there this trip at some point.

It really depends on the atmosphere that you want for reception.

Were having our rehersal lunch at the rainforest. We have a party of 16 so we went through group reservations and they gurantee to seat you together. You can sit outside under a patio that faces the lagoon or back kindof under the mushroom.
We signed a contract, and our food and beverage minimum was only 275.

They give you a choice of picking from 3 diffrent menus. each have a diffrent set price and include soda and a dessert. OR you can just order off of the regular menu. Its next month!!! ill be sure to post a spedy tr and pictures.

Em and Laura that would be so great if i could see your reviews when you have been. I was looking at the 1900 park fare but its really noisy and the characters come to the table which i think would freak both parents out. Lol. Entertaining for us though.

I thought Rainforest has the fun feel but isn't over the top noisy and it takes the pressure off the parents who will be meeting for the first time on our wedding day. Does anyone know if animal kingdom Rainforest has the same decor inside as DTD? Is there still the waterfalls and tanks of fish? I just love them. If we do it were not going to tell anyone about the thunderstorms and just wait to see their faces.

I'm hoping that at 5pm at DTD it wont be as noisy and the Wedding is on a Wednesday too.

We are also having a rehearsal party at Rainforest (DTD) from 5:00 - 7:00 on a Wednesday. We will be under the mushroom with about 30 guests. Some of the menu options are below. A decent variety - my DF is a picky eater so, we chose food items from the list below and a few special orders, like sliders and grilled cheese.

You're welcome! I love the quesadillas too!! I'm drooling just thinking about all the food! :yay:

the rainforest at DTD has an outdoor deck on the back side of it. It doesn't have all the fun that the inside has, but it is on the water and it's still the same great food.

I love the rainforest cafe!

But I just wanted to let you know I just had my reception dinner at the Portobello Yacht Club on Sept 12 and is was amazing. They were prefect. We had the rose patio which is on the water and beautiful. The service was wonderful. And everyone loved there food! It was great!
