Has the rain been worse than normal the last few weeks?
I know it usually rains a bit then moves on, but the forecast seems to be rain every day for most of the day.
Any locals with a better forecast?
I am headed down later this week. We were planning going to the water parks a few times and I have quite a bit of pool time planned so I may rethink it.
Thanks,

Rain has been almost daily for the last two weeks or so. Normal summer pattern, and much needed for the area. Assume a good chance of passing rain most afternoons for an hour or two.

It's normal and expected for it to rain for a few hours each day in the summer. Multiple days in the summer with no rain is an anomoly in Orlando, not the norm. In summer, we go prepared for rain to occur:
  • We plan outdoor rides for the morning, when it's least likely to rain
  • We wear waterproof athletic sandals so we don't feel miserable with soggy shoes
  • We wear hats or carry a UV umbrella
  • We keep ponchos handy
  • We take afternoon breaks at our resort, and stay at a resort with a good pool

Thanks,
just to add. Don't focus on the week long/5 day weather forecast. Weather changes here from day to day, so each night check the next days and even that might change by the time you wake up.

In our experience (only 3 years living here) the past 10 days or so has been unusually rainy. More typically the daily rain is limited to brief afternoon thunderstorms.

I always expect the daily rain showers but it just seems to be more all day rain lately.
So I was just curious if the forecast is calling for all day rain vs occasional pop up.

We had more rain on this trip than we've ever had before. We are used to the daily afternoon thunderstorms, but this time there were days where it rained almost all day.

There was a system in the Gulf of Mexico that was feeding rain into Florida for the last 10-12 days, but it's gone and we are back into the normal summer rain pattern. Sometimes the summer storms can blow up and end up sticking around and washing out an evening, but that is not the norm.

Life-long Floridian here. The amount of rain in the last week is unusual. As PPs have said, afternoon storms are to be expected nearly every day, but this constant deluge-- where it seems like God turned on the faucet and forgot to turn it off for several days until all the roads were flooded is very uncommon. That said, it's welcome in most of FL right now. It will help to keep FL green, brushfire-free, and, off water restrictions (or will help to end or reduce water restrictions already in effect in some areas).

Considering we've been in severe droughts and have had a ton of fires...yes I'd say the rain has been "worse than normal" than the past few weeks.

We're getting some much needed rain.

You'll likely see rain but it likely won't last all day like it's been

Thanks,

I'm not local, im in Atlanta. But we get a lot of the same systems. It is a lot more rain than normal the past 3 weeks and the next few forecasted.

Leaving today and it rained every day, some days very heavily for hours. Yesterday and today seemed like what I heard Florida was typically like- hot with a short rain in the afternoon.
