First timer here.. we leave in one week!!!!

Are the parks always open in the rain? Do you still have fun even though its raining?

We will have two strollers.... a travel system for our 2 month old and an umbrella stroller for our 4.5 year old. We plan to get a rain over for teh travel system and we do have ponchos for me and dh... guess we should get one for dd too.

any other tips or suggestions of things to do if and when it rains? Its our first trip and I just want it to be perfect. LOL

The best answer is just to try and ignore the rain. You're in Florida, so it's not like you will be cold and wet. And not to mention crowds always seem to thin out in the rain, so it's a good time to get some rides done. Typically, they only close the rides if it is thunder storming, and that is just for the outdoor rides, but seeing as Disney is notorious for their indoor "dark" rides, you will still have plenty of stuff to do!

It rained one day during my trip a couple of weeks ago while we were in Animal Kingdom, and the park actually proved to be beneficial for the weather! There are so many trees and natural covering that we hardly even felt the rain, and before we knew it, it was over with! So maybe you could plan to head to Animal Kingdom on the day(s) it's forecast to rain! Just remember, no amount of planning can ever control the weather, so stressing about it is probably the only thing that can keep your trip from going "perfectly"...just go with the flow and you'll have a blast! HTH!

Don't let the thought of rain deter you. A couple of years ago, it rained every day of the 8 days we were there and we had a great time! It usually comes and goes, but if it doesn't, so much is inside that it doesn't effect that much. Some rides close as pp said, but there is still so much to do. It can be a hassle with little ones and strollers etc., but the crowds thin out which makes up for it IMO. Have a great trip!

The parks really do clear out when it rains --- it is kind of amusing to watch. :goodvibes. Keep a poncho on hand and keep going if you can. Get inside if there is lightning/thunder or if it is teeming, but otherwise continue with your plans for as long as you can. You won't find many lines....except maybe at the restaurants or stores! ;)

First of all, any forecast for the Orlando area more than three days out is probably wrong.

All I see in the ten day forecast is some isolated or scattered thunderstorms, with no higher than a 60% chance of rain. However, if you look at the hour-by-hour an a 60% day, you will find one or two hours in the midafternoon where the chance is that high with most of the day at 20% or less. And normally the rain is for not more than 15 minutes at a time.
