Rain Tips...

Just like ZoZo I suggest bring multiple pairs of shoes and socks.

With a Texas location, I assume you will be flying...... which may make it a challenge to pack extra stuff.

I wear my crocs on days that it might rain, but make sure they have some traction left!

Also make sure you take some baseball caps you don't mind getting soaked. Ponchos or hoods of any type don't really keep the rain off your face.

Keen's are awesome! Like a sneaker sole and keeps toes covered, but the actual shoe is like a sandal. They dry quickly and i've never gotten a blister wearing them. also more comfortable than my crocs! and i LOVE my crocs-i'm a nurse! If i was allowed to wear my keens to work for my 12 hour shifts i would in a heart beat!

its rained here almost daily all week. my poor mom decided to wear her sneakers and they are STILL drying out from 3 days ago. she went and bought a new pair yesterday because of it. I wore my keen shoes and they are awesome in the rain. protect your feet like sneakers from being stepped on and run over by strollers and dry out so quickly!

On our 2008 trip, we got the best advice from a CM... stuff a big wad of newspaper in each sneaker before you go to bed. It will absorb all of the moisture, and leave you with a dry shoe. We did it, and the next day were able to wear our shoes again. Best tip I have ever gotten at Disney. :thumbsup2

it rained 2 days when we where there. Remember it doesn't get cold when it rains. We brought dollar store ponchos with us and they tore as soon as we put them on. So bought the WDW ones and for myself they made me to hot. So I just put on my visor and went on my way. It protected my face so thats really all I wanted. I wore flip flops again it was not cold. We loved it when it was raining there where hardly any lines the whole time.

We generally go in September, when it rains every day at 3 pm. We have only had one full day of rain in 3 years of September visits. We had the dollar store ponchos and they did nothing. We then purchased the WDW ones. Any store will replace them if they tear so they are worth the money. I also found that I liked an umbrella. 2 pairs of sneakers and either athletic type sandals or Crocs. My DH and DS preferred a baseball hat ti the umbrella. Either way, pack your best attitude and go have fun. a little rain never stops the magic

When the rains come, the crowds go where it is dry. We head for the wet rides, Splash Mountain or whatever the rides are that you don't want to ride and get wet on. You are wet from the rain so that is the best time for the wet rides. Plus sometimes they let you stay on the ride and go again if there is no one waiting to ride it. Staying in DVC rooms with washer/dryer is great for rain days. Your clothes/shoes are ready to go again in no time. Out tip for the rain, go with the flow and have a great time, you will dry off soon enough.

Anyone know how much the Disney ponchos are, adults and kids sizes? And what age are the kids ones for? Would they fit a 7 yr old?

If you are not wearing disposable ponchos, have something to pack your wet ponchos in after it stops raining. We got caught in a downpour at MK in January and bought rain ponchos for all of us at one of the gift shops. When it stopped raining I had 4 wet ponchos and 1 small, already overstuffed backpack to try to get them all into. Now if there is a chance of rain I bring a larger backpack and put each poncho in a gallon ziplock bag. That way when we're done using the ponchos, they go back in the ziplock bags and don't get autograph books, planning sheets, etc. that I carry in the backpack wet.

how well do these sandals fit, are they wide? true to size as far as length goes?

Keens have come highly recommended by friends and family!

We didn't plan on as much rain as we had since December isn't supposed to be a rainy season but it rained 3 days of our trip.

I packed everything in the backpack in ziplock bags to protect it and keep it dry...and I mean everything including my DSLR camera and extra lens!

For Ponchos we just bought the WDW ones because we needed them! LOL! Two child sized and two adult sized and trudged right on through.

I just purchased my first pair of keens online, but haven't gotten them yet...hope they fit well! I highly recommend AK in the rain. The safari animals were out and about during the rain! We loved it!
