Rain, Surprise Birthdays, Rain, First Visits -(Ginny is deceased-Prayers for her.)

I last left you leaving Indiana Jones and the rain. We manage to head over to Hollywood and Vine for dinner ressies at 4:30. We arrived at 4:15. No one was ahead of us and no one at the podium. After about 15 minutes someone came out and took my name and gave us a beeper. We found a shady spot to sit and waited out the time. Then lots of people were checking in at the podium and got to go right in. As we sit and sit and more and more people going in Sheri decides to check and see what's happening. This was 5:15. They told her we should be beeped at any moment. So at 5:30 we get our beep. Alex had been holding it and when it finally went off he all but dropped it. It was funny. You would think he never held a beeper before.:)

They told us they had no more tables for 9 people so we would have to split. We ended up with a 6 top and a 4 top right next to each other. Don and I got to sit with Andrew and Alex.

Dinner was really quite good. No characters at night but food was better than at Chef Mickeys. We chose Hollywood and Vine over Mama Melrose as Sheri and Mike ate there last time and didn't care for it. I knew we couldn't afford to pay for all of us at Brown Derby. We wanted to be guaranteed to see Fantasmic.

The people sitting next to us argued with everything they got. It was supposed to be a birthday party and they wanted a free cake for the party of 12. Of course that didn't happen so they just kept getting more and more beligerant. After a bit of arguing the manager came over and said "if I take care of your bill, will you just leave?" They did. I think they got what they wanted.

After a good meal we head back to Sorcerers Hat and find a photopass person for some pictures.

We head over to TOT for one more elevator ride and it was packed. Alex has now decided he wants to ride. But we knew we would not get done in time for Fantasmic. So we checked out RNR and got right in for another ride. I did keep my eyes open this time and Alex allowed me to ride with him.

We then go to Fantasmic and were really close to the front when they opened the gates. We found good seats and had fun waiting and talking.

Now if you will notice it is getting really dark and we all have our cell phones on tuned to the weather channel. Out of nowhere comes this huge storm. The thunder, the lightning, the RAIN. Oh, lots of rain. We couldn't get the ponchos out quick enough. People all around us got out umbrellas. They kept announcing to put the umbrellas away. After about 40 minutes the rain slacked a little and they started a small bit of show. Then stated that was it and thank you for coming.

We trudged out and was so disappointed. They announced as we were leaving they would have an 10:30 show if the weather held off. :yay:

So what do you do while waiting? You shop. So we shopped all the stores. Sheri had found a watch at Contemporary that she wanted really bad and didn't get. The fact that she has 36 Mickey watches have something to do with it? So she once again looked. The boys went to the hat store to order their hats and Don found an ice cream. It got to be 10:15 and the park was really quite empty. I guess that storm really scared a lot of people off. Takes more than that for us. We had a mission to see Fantasmic.

We head back in and again get the same seats we had.:cool1: Low and behold the people from dinner sat right behind us and complained lots.

The rain started again so once out come the ponchos. Right at 10:30 just like magic the rain completely stops. We checked the weather on the phones and nothing in site.

All I can say is it is a totally wonderful show. Fantasia is my favorite movie and I love Sorcerer Mickey. As does Andrew. So we were psyched. Don and Tim filmed the whole thing and it actually came out quite well.

As I stated the people behind us complained about the whole show. I wanted to ask them why did they stay? To ruin it for everyone else. About that time a gentleman sitting next to me told them to just shut or or move. I was ready for the war to begin. :rotfl2:

So it turned out to be a wonderful day at DHS and we now just have one day left.:sad1:

We drove home tired but so happy. We truly were at the happiest place on earth.

Our intention was to go back to MK or just let everyone do their own thing and meet for dinner on that last day. Stay tuned to see what happens to us next.

YAYY! All caught up (I have been super busy w/ school starting!). First of all, the nerve of those people! I hate how some ppl. can just try to ruin everyone's fun! Seems like you guys did good ignoring it, though. We were thinking of going to Hollywood n Vine for a character breakfast. How did you like it? I know you had lunch, but what did you think about the atmosphere?

Sounds like you got a touch of Disney Magic with the rain stopping at 10:30 exactly! Fantasmic was awesome---so happy you did not have to miss it:hug:

I found the shops at DHS so fun to browse in! I read on the boards today that it is rumored that a Monsters, INC coaster is being built at DHS! I think you and I could brave that one along with the other 6 year olds :rotfl2: Great update---cant believe its almost over:sad1:

School starts here next Tuesday. I know the boys are not ready. They are into 2 a days in football and soccer this week and they are definetly ready for that to be over. My daughter says her house stinks.

I loved Fantasmic and I'm so glad we got to see it. That was our goal for the trip (besides the birthday aspect). I loved the shops at DHS. The boys all got their Mickey ears and found a great coffee mug. Look on Mel's report (Tears and Frustrations) I had to show the girls my messy vs clean desk yesteray.

I'm all set for a new roller coaster. I bet we can do it and scream like girls. :rotfl2:

I've tried to put the end off. I've met so many wonderful people and I don't want to lose that contact. So maybe I can drag it out a couple more weeks. One TR I was reading hasn't had an update since 7/9. So maybe I can last another month. :rotfl:

I'm still in love with your children

Haha! Just keep going w/it! Or, start a PTR for a date To Be Announced...I would still read it, promise:thumbsup2

My DH was a football player...2 a days is NO FUN! Thank goodness it is over soon!! I can only imagine the smell!! DH is already "conditioning" Aiden for fooball, so I am sure I will have to deal with it eventually!!

We started school last FRIDAY! Sooo early. So, we are getting adjusted, but she loves it. Are you on facebook? Send me your name in a PM if so, and I can add you so you can keep up with us.

Son in law Mike played for Texas Longhorns many years ago so needless to say football rules in their house. He coached mighty mights when the boys were yioung. Austin always played. Played varsity as a freshman and then the coach really screwed up and Aust plaed soccer sophomore and junior years. Andrew played soccer last year as a freshman and liked it so he is sticking with it. Much to Mike's dismay. New football coach this year and Aust is back on the team as a senior. It broke our heart when he quit but that was a decision he had to deal with. Liking the new coach which is good. So we'll see how things go. Both boys wrestled when in grade school and middle school. Aust was 6th in state in 6th grade. Andrew has always been so small he didn't like getting hit in football.

We girls are on facebook and we'd love to have you join. you need to pm me your name or email and I'll have you join. My account is set up so no one can find me. I'm incognito.

Hello! :wave2:

Boy, a Monster, Inc. Roller Coaster would be awesome! I would totally ride it. They need another kiddie coaster. Mitchell absolutely loves Goofy, and so did I, but I will say it needs to be a longer ride. It's over before the first scream comes out of your mouth!

Finally at work. Had my labs and ultrasound this morning. Seems like it took forever. I would do any roller coaster and I think that one would be fun. I didn't do Goofy cause everyone said how short it was.

So, how'd the doctor appt. go? Do you have any good news to share?

Today was just labs and ultrasound. Next Thursday is the big day for Dr. and Mammo. Can't wait.

We are going to Kansas City on Sept 1 and returning Sept 2. Sheri's BD is the 2nd. We got rooms at the Harrahs. (thank you Sharon). We will have a fun mini girl trip.

Have a good productive day.

I'm here...for a minute. Worked yesterday so didn't get much DISing in.

I don't know how you can say no one likes you Ginny, when I have to catch up on 4 pages after one day. You know we all love you.

I feel like taking a nap, but I think I'm going to go find some lunch. I'll be back later. :)

I was really just kidding. I have lots of friends. Some aren't even on Dis but my favorite ones are right here.:grouphug:

Lunch, nap. Come back and visit when you can.

:hug:Ginny, you are loved! ;)

Thank you Jay. As are you for sure.

Look how close you are to the wonderful Goofy trip. He is so going to love what you have done. I told Mel (Mickey4ever) to get to your reports that they were fantastic. She is a wonderful person and I wanted her to know another wonderful person in my life. You have created a monster with Dis. Thank you very much.

Well, let us know when you get your "clean bill of health!"

Kansas City sounds fun. I know you are excited to have your girls all to yourself. It's wonderful that you are so close to one another, since you and your own mother are not.

Thank you Jay. As are you for sure.

I "heard" you talking about me! That is the sweetest thing to say, EVER. You are just an absolutely precious lady. And I appreciate that you sent me over to Jay's reports because she has truly inspired me.

I know that is why we are close. I so don't want to be my mother. According to my sister she is the best ever. Probably why we don't get along either.

Isn't Jay great?

I don't want to be my mother, either. I don't know of anyone that thinks she's great. So sad to be thought of that way, don't you think? I hope that no one ever thinks of me the way I know others do of her. Ugh.

Yes, Jay is definitely great! I am in awe of her, actually!!!! :cutie:

Everyone that knows my Mom think she is the best person ever. They only see her public side.

I am in awe of Jay also. She is actually the one who finally got me to post. Her boys are precious. I'm sure no one over another to her but that Aladin is one good looking young man. Goofy and Stitch are so cute and that little Buzz is a darling.

Now not any cuter than your big boy by any means, but if I had 4 children they would not all be cute.:lmao:

I'm reading a book about a woman who murdered her husband in the eighties. She killed him and then kept his body in the attic for six months. I believe the book is called "Blood Legacy". It's pretty good. The mother in the book had her "public side" also. Not saying your mother is a murderer, by any means!!! Just saying that when you said "public side" it reminded me of that book I'm reading.

I know that Jay has some darling boys. I'm partial to boys anyways, and each and every one of them are the cutest little darlings. And I don't think that you'd have ugly children!!! Your daughters are beautiful!!!

I will pass that along to them. They will like that. My mother is very pretty and has gorgeous skin. They don't mind having some of her traits.

Some of the things you guys talk about...

Mel, I could never read a book like that. I like non-fiction, but I don't do crime ANYTHING. Or any kind of mysteries. I just have too keen of an imagination and I'd never sleep at night.

Add me to the Mom bandwagon. I don't get along great with mine either (and I live with her). She and my brother are EXACTLY alike and my dad and I are pretty much alike. My mom has her "public" side too. Even has a "public" voice she uses. Up until a few years ago, she even used it with my brother. She is a control freak, thinks she is always right, and does not like it when things don't go her way. She does not like my housekeeping skills (or lack thereof) and never fails to remind me that this is "her" house (not hers and my dad's, hers). We get along okay if we're shopping. Or watching football. Even at Disney. But she is just too controlling and drives me crazy. Last night, after the kids were in bed she came down to ask me why Will had been crying. He was crying because he missed a couple of questions on a Flat Stanley practice quiz and I was going to make him read the book again with me. He's a perfectionist. He gets upset when he gets things wrong. So she starts this lecture about how I don't need to put so much pressure on him (I wasn't putting pressure on him...he puts it on himself!) blah blah blah (I don't remember the rest, I wasn't listening). The whole "it's my house" thing bothers me, but it IS her house, so I tune her out on that. But, she drives me CRAZY when she tells me how to raise my kids (which she does ALL the time. Almost nothing we do is right). UGGG.

Anyway....

So, I'm like you Ginny, trying VERY hard NOT to be my mom (who is just like HER mom...and like I said, my brother...and they will ALL be with me at Disney. :headache:)

It sounds like your trip with your girls will be a lot of fun. :goodvibes

I have also gone over to Jay's reports and I am loving them (I'm caught up on Goofy's trip and in the middle of reading about Stitch's, but I haven't gone back to read any of the others yet). I'm thinking next year when we go we might split up and have a day where each of us takes just one kid. Even if we don't do that, I'm definitely planning to have an "unbirthday" for Will (because we'll be there on Christian's actual birthday) so they can both have a "special" day.

Okay, is that enough chatter. Gotta go check in elsewhere (and actually do an update on my own report), but I'll be back.
