Rain, Surprise Birthdays, Rain, First Visits -(Ginny is deceased-Prayers for her.)

I LOVED Pikes Peak!!!! I LOVE Colorado!!! that is where I want to live!!! I actually had Danny and my parents talked into moving there in 1997. Than Danny's dad started getting really sick and his brother passed away. Danny changed his mind.

I last left you leaving Indiana Jones and the rain. We manage to head over to Hollywood and Vine for dinner ressies at 4:30. We arrived at 4:15. No one was ahead of us and no one at the podium. After about 15 minutes someone came out and took my name and gave us a beeper. We found a shady spot to sit and waited out the time. Then lots of people were checking in at the podium and got to go right in. As we sit and sit and more and more people going in Sheri decides to check and see what's happening. This was 5:15. They told her we should be beeped at any moment. So at 5:30 we get our beep. Alex had been holding it and when it finally went off he all but dropped it. It was funny. You would think he never held a beeper before.:)

They told us they had no more tables for 9 people so we would have to split. We ended up with a 6 top and a 4 top right next to each other. Don and I got to sit with Andrew and Alex.

Dinner was really quite good. No characters at night but food was better than at Chef Mickeys. We chose Hollywood and Vine over Mama Melrose as Sheri and Mike ate there last time and didn't care for it. I knew we couldn't afford to pay for all of us at Brown Derby. We wanted to be guaranteed to see Fantasmic.

The people sitting next to us argued with everything they got. It was supposed to be a birthday party and they wanted a free cake for the party of 12. Of course that didn't happen so they just kept getting more and more beligerant. After a bit of arguing the manager came over and said "if I take care of your bill, will you just leave?" They did. I think they got what they wanted.

After a good meal we head back to Sorcerers Hat and find a photopass person for some pictures.

We head over to TOT for one more elevator ride and it was packed. Alex has now decided he wants to ride. But we knew we would not get done in time for Fantasmic. So we checked out RNR and got right in for another ride. I did keep my eyes open this time and Alex allowed me to ride with him.

We then go to Fantasmic and were really close to the front when they opened the gates. We found good seats and had fun waiting and talking.

Now if you will notice it is getting really dark and we all have our cell phones on tuned to the weather channel. Out of nowhere comes this huge storm. The thunder, the lightning, the RAIN. Oh, lots of rain. We couldn't get the ponchos out quick enough. People all around us got out umbrellas. They kept announcing to put the umbrellas away. After about 40 minutes the rain slacked a little and they started a small bit of show. Then stated that was it and thank you for coming.

We trudged out and was so disappointed. They announced as we were leaving they would have an 10:30 show if the weather held off. :yay:

So what do you do while waiting? You shop. So we shopped all the stores. Sheri had found a watch at Contemporary that she wanted really bad and didn't get. The fact that she has 36 Mickey watches have something to do with it? So she once again looked. The boys went to the hat store to order their hats and Don found an ice cream. It got to be 10:15 and the park was really quite empty. I guess that storm really scared a lot of people off. Takes more than that for us. We had a mission to see Fantasmic.

We head back in and again get the same seats we had.:cool1: Low and behold the people from dinner sat right behind us and complained lots.

The rain started again so once out come the ponchos. Right at 10:30 just like magic the rain completely stops. We checked the weather on the phones and nothing in site.

All I can say is it is a totally wonderful show. Fantasia is my favorite movie and I love Sorcerer Mickey. As does Andrew. So we were psyched. Don and Tim filmed the whole thing and it actually came out quite well.

As I stated the people behind us complained about the whole show. I wanted to ask them why did they stay? To ruin it for everyone else. About that time a gentleman sitting next to me told them to just shut or or move. I was ready for the war to begin. :rotfl2:

So it turned out to be a wonderful day at DHS and we now just have one day left.:sad1:

We drove home tired but so happy. We truly were at the happiest place on earth.

Our intention was to go back to MK or just let everyone do their own thing and meet for dinner on that last day. Stay tuned to see what happens to us next.

Years ago we drove to San Fransisco to visit my brother and Sis in law. Coming home we drove through Yosemite. Don had me film the whole thing. This was the days when video cameras showed what you were filming in black and white. I filmed the whole thing and it didn't bother me a bit. It was like watching a black/white movie. When I would put the camera down Don would have to pull over so I could take care of the sickness.:lmao:

OMG! Ginny I have been waiting for our paths to cross it finally did...we were at Fantasmic that night...that is the night Dayne lost Danny's keys...Dayne, Gwendolyn, and Joe stayed for the second show we left to bring Ashton back to the resort for a late night dinner and bed...too bad we didn't know one another than...

That is crazy. I knew you were there about the time we were. Next time we will plan a little better. I remember reading that on your report about the keys. I felt so sorry for Dayne. You know he didn't do it on purpose. Kids can really have a hard time sometimes. We are kindred spirits.

I'm so glad you got to see Fantasmic! I was afraid it was going to rain AGAIN!

I can't believe the rude people at Hollywood & Vine. Why did those people bother to go to Disney at all?

How CRAZY that you two were in the same place at the same time! Weird.

Ginny, I have a heights "thing" too. I think I mentioned it on Lisa's TR one time. It's gotten worse as I've gotten older. It doesn't bother me on rides because I'm strapped in (same reason I love roller coasters but won't do huge slides at water parks. I did the Empire State Building thing in high school and it freaked me out. Now I doubt I'd even go up. I'd be like you waiting near the elevator. I just always picture myself falling. I have a little to active of an imagination...

Looking forward to reading about your last day...though it's sad that it's your last day.

I know I've stated before I can't watch movies where they are standing on a ledge or rock or anything looking down. I just know they will fall. No matter how much I've seen the same movie I still feel that way. Like it will have a different ending. I know it is weird. I think that only people that feel that way can understand. I did Grand Canyon. Now figure that. I've decided it's the climbing thing. When you go to Pikes Peak or those tall buildings but when you do the canyon you are driving along the flat land and boom, there you are. You are not high the canyon is just low.:rotfl: I will post my cruise pics of everyone doing the zip lines. Not me. I did get lots of pics tho.

I don't understand why people would pay what it costs to do Disney then carry on like fools the whole time. Stay home and save your money. No one wants to hear it.

The only time I have ever had a fear of heights (and still don't know why I was frightened) we were in Ft. Walton last year and walked out on the Pier (beautiful) we walked to the end and the floor is an open grating type floor...I felt like all my blood drained, Danny looks over at me and said I looked so pale (now he & Dayne are afraid of hts --not me--they were fine) we were about 80 ft in the air over the gulf. I was fine where the pier was plank wood.

OK! Danny and I were talking and we are down to three weeks!!! :cool1:
The last week of September, the week before Thanksgiving, or the second week of December. Checking out the room only prices...and we are probably going to stay at the POP! (w/a King bed)or POFQ. CSR just priced us out unless we take Dayne only and only need one room than we will rethink the CSR.
I still will not start a PTR until Sep or Oct.; so, Ginny, Heather & Mel we need to keep ya'lls going...:grouphug:

told him when he gets his Christmas bonus we will set aside the beach money (this made him happy enough to talk about WDW w/me) and in Oct. I will put a deposit on a room only for what we decide and pay for it out of my sitting money for the next year; when it gets closer to time and they start offering pkgs we will roll it over:rolleyes1

night ya'll...I would be in bed...but, Dayne woke up Ashton so I am sitting here pretending to watch "the Land Before Time" for the third time today;)
 Have a great weekend!!

I can't believe both of ya'll are still up! I need to get to bed. One of these days I'll learn...but at least I don't have to get up TOO early tomorrow.

Hope Ashton gets back to sleep soon!

How exciting and great that you have Danny interested in it too. Good work. Get to bed.

Good night to you. I have a pedi at 10:30 in the morning. Then lunch, then home to housework. Ych!!

good Morning Ginny! great update. it horrible that it rained like that. i would be very very upset. if i was there.

I am sooo happy that you were able to see Fantasmic. Too bad about the people behind you. I don't know if I would have had the nerve to tell them to shut up, but I would have been talking very loudly to my family about the rudeness of some people.

I have been known to but I had decided I was not going to let anything ruin my happy place. So ignore rather than countering was my best move.

:thumbsup2that's what I normally do too!:rotfl:

Sheri was quite proud of me. I've always told my girls don't do anything to embarrass yourself that you can't go back and see those people again. So I decided I would for once practice what I preach. I was so thankful that someone did it for me.:rotfl2:

Loved the latest update, Ginny! Geez, you guys were up late last night! I was snoozing away, dreaming some crazy dreams!

I'm glad that you guys had a great meal at Hollywood and Vine. Too bad about the creeps at the next table ruining it for everyone. The manager shouldn't have covered their bill. He should have said, pay your bill and leave, or I'll have security throw you out. But that's just me. Some people don't care how they come across so long as their bill gets covered. :headache:

Then to have them end up behind you at Fantasmic. Grrr. I probably wouldn't have said anything out loud, but I would have given a dirty look or two, OR THREE! What in the world were they complaining about?

They were the most unhappiest people I was ever around. And they had pre-teens with them to listen. Nothing makes me angrier than what you relay to children. They learn what they live. I know at the restaurant it was the food, the tea, the service (it's a buffet) getting no free cake for all of them. Stupidly obnoxious.

At Fantasmic it was the weather, having to stay late to see it again, having to GET READY FOR THIS............. having to sit on a wet bench. On and on and on they went. I'm really glad the guy next to me said something and I thanked him profusely.

Oh, yeah, that's Disney's fault that it rained. Ugh!

Yes, I try to be very careful what I say in front of Mitchell. They soak it up. He's started saying some of the phrases that I use here lately. I laughed when he told me the other day "Wait just a moment. I'm trying to concentrate!" :rotfl:

Too funny...
isnt' it wonderful when it comes back to you...
one of the little girls I watch her mom is constantly asking me what something means:laughing:
the other day I told chloe to stop whinning and she told me "I;m very upset right now, and you don't want to make me angry" now I usually say that at two different times but it was so funny...

That is funny. That was one of my fav sayings. "Don't make me angry" still say it often. I want to say it to those crazy patients when they want me to do their disability forms RIGHT NOW. I always tell them everytime they call to see if it is done it gets pulled from the top goes back to the bottom. Dr. is allowing me to charge $25 to do them now. It has kind of stopped a couple. He even fired a patient last week cause she thought she was going to get me in trouble. He told her I ran the office and if she can't deal with me she needs a new Dr. Loved it. Needless to say she left mad. Not just "angry":rotfl2:
