I feel silly packing Rain Jackets for our trip next week. I imagine it will be WAYY to hot to wear them? They aren't the heavy lined kind, but the llbean discovery jackets that are thin. Still, is that ridiculous? I assume I should just do poncho's???

We do ponchos. I've picked up 3 per person at Target, at $1.49 each.

Some years we use them, some years we don't. When we do, they make a huge difference.

For what it's worth, we also bring sweatshirts-- the plane and some of the restaurants can be chilly.

I go to the dollar tree and get 2 for $1. They are light, and you throw them away when the rain stops. Easy. I've bought them for each trip, and other than once, have never had to use them. So we have a lot! This next trip is in August, so just like you, I know we will need them.

We always take the cheap ponchos. That way they can be thrown away after getting wet and we don't have to deal with lugging around a wet jacket.

This. Last year I also brought a purse size umbrella and that was fabulous. I loved not dealing with the ponchos the day I used the umbrella. And it folded up small enough to put in my backpack when I didn't need it anymore.

I looked ALL OVER for them this year!! Walmart used to carry them, but I could never find them this time around.

Personally we prefer the small (5-6 inch) collapsible umbrellas to ponchos. Wearing a poncho in the heat and humidity during July/August is just plain sticky !!

With the heat and humidity, wearing the rain jacket will probably be pretty uncomfortable. We usually bring poncho's, but honestly usually end up not using them for the same reason. I would say bring poncho's and use them if you need to. It just gets so hot when wearing either of them.

If it is a short shower or t-storm, head into a store or an inside ride and wait for it to slow down/stop. Sometimes we hit the people mover and just stay on. It's a fun way to wait out the storm.

If it looks like rain all day or for long periods, keeping dry becomes the most important and we'll wear the ponchos.

Have a fun trip!

It rained so much our last trip in July that the we eventually just gave up on the ponchos. Lol. They were a great idea in the beginning but became just a nuisance to us. We just decided to get wet. Lol. We had the cheap dollar store ones though. I think next trip we will splurge and get a few of the good ones you can buy at disney. Maybe they won't be such a hassle.

I don't think I have ever been to the World when it didn't rain a little bit while I was there. Usually just hang out in a shop for 10 minutes and it will be over. Going to get the Dollor Store Ponchos for the group (something very compact that I can fit in a pocket) use it if I nned to and then toss in the trash.
