Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving? We sure did! Great company & food! Also got some good bargains on Lands End @ Sears!

Anyway, back to my subject..My sister, niece & I are heading to DL/Anaheim next week. I've been getting so excited I can barely sleep! I've also been checking the forecast, especially coming from Alaska, we have been looking forward to warmer weather! Well just now I noticed on the 10 day forecast, they are predicting RAIN for the entire time we are there!! ;(. I have never been in the rain, so for those of you who have, what's it like crowd wise? It also shows anywhere from 30-60% chance for the days we will be there, so if it pans out, how bad does it get? Will there be a possibility if torrential downpours or does it typically drizzle, then does the sun peek out at some points during the day? I'm kind of bummed, especially because they may cancel some if the things I've been looking for, right? An I being too negative & should I be looking at the positive side (I will be at Disney!!) also, what type of outerwear should we bring? I'm not sure we could find ponchos at this late season, and here we are deep in the winter season, in fact I just bought a winter coat! Anyway, I guess I'm just a little bummed because I was looking forward to the warm California sunshine! ;(. I just need some positive thoughts!!

They will not close the park due to rain. Certain attractions may close, but the park will remain open.

When we went at Halloweentime a few years ago it rained 2 different times. Once it was just a sprinkle for less than an hour. The other was the whole day on and off. Yes some things were closed but most were open and I have to say everything was pretty much a walk on. We loved it(even though we were a little wet-we did have rain ponchos).

For me, it's only showing a 10% chance on 11/29 and a 40% chance on 11/30. That wouldn't be enough to change hotel reservations or anything like that if it were my vacation.

If its rainy, crowds will thin out. Rainy days are good days to make reservations for indoor dining, because its warm and gets you out of the rain for awhile. Plan to go back to the hotel to change into dry clothes at some point, or at the very least, bring extra shoes and socks and rent a locker so that you can change shoes if they get too wet.

Teacups will close if it rains, and parades and fireworks will be canceled. There are a few other things that close, but the park is mostly fully functional.

The last time I was there was about 12 years ago but it rained, and even snowed while I was there. DL had ponchos for sale in the park, so I wouldn't worry to much if you can't get any before you leave. It rained pretty good for a day or two, we did a lot of inside rides, most of the lines weren't long enough to reach the outdoors. Also coming from the west coast of bc we are used to a lot of rain, so it didn't bother us to much and it wasn't cold like here just wet. I hope you get more sunshine than rain, but either way it will be warmer than home

Being from the Pacific Northwest, I'm qualified/knowledgeable about RAIN.

Don't worry about it. Like you said you're at Disneyland!! As others here will tell you, it dampens the crowd. yayaaaa! I see this as a BONUS.

Go to the Dollar Store and buy plastic ponchos. They usually come two in a pack. They're compact and easy to carry. We mainly use them on the wet rides if we want to stay dry.

We generally go in the Winter months. The winter conditions in Anaheim are fantastic! My grandkids wear shorts the whole time. While the Locals are all bundled up.

Pack with the idea of layers and you'll do just fine.

That's my main concern, as we have VIP fireworks seating If they're cancelled due to rain - seriously - there will be crying (MINE) LOL Our last trip out, we stayed at PPH and waited to watch fireworks from the roof on our last evening there. While waiting for them to start, they announced they were cancelling them due to high winds. : ( In my 48 years in So Cal, I've never been to the park during the Christmas season, so it's something we're REALLY looking forward to.

We have gone many times in the rain. 2 Christmas trips and one spring break trip we had rain almost all the days we were there. The good news is that it is perfect for getting rid of the crowds (APers who live in the area won't go in the rain!), and the other good news is that when it does rain it is often very light and goes away quickly. You may get like 20 minutes of rain, then an entire day of dry whether.

I would take rain over a heat wave at disneyland any day! You will have a great time, and I'll bet you will see very little moisture.

That's what Im hoping, that crowds may be lesser due to the rain. We normally go in the summer, and I've never experienced rain then! We will definitely have to get ponchos!!

Most often the rain comes and goes in a light drizzle. Once in awhile you will get some real downpours. Several years ago we went in February- beautiful most of the week, light rain one day then the next was just one soggy, wet day. The rain didn't let up for hours. It was a cold, windy rain, ponchos didn't even help. We happened upon a building (Innovations) which we had never done before. We stayed in there for hours and hours. This was back when the technology was new and cool- the kids had never seen anything like it before, the place was nearly empty and we just played and played. So just remember to be flexible, be prepared, and just let the fun happen- we had other ideas about what the plan for the day would be, but it all ended up working out and we still had a great time.

We have had fireworks cancelled on us more times for wind than rain, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it is just a little cleansing rain in the morning

Thank you everyone, I am going to have to change my attitude and realize that no matter what, we will have a wonderful time, and rain or shine, it's still going to be Disney!

Also, I am planning a trip back in the summer, so it's all good!!

Do the park ponchos do a decent job at keeping you dry? Well, as dry as can be expected. Does anyone have any poncho suggestions I can pick up now to bring with, just in case? I'd probably have to get something at Amazon because stores here in Arizona generally don't have a big selection of rain supplies.

Check your camping sections at walmart ect.. for rain poncho's I bet you would find some there.

We got caught in the rain a couple years ago and decided it was worth investing in real rain coats. (Ours are from Columbia Outerwear) It made all the difference this last trip. We stayed dry and warm while others looked miserable. Our rain days were our best in the park. We have an outlet near us so I was able to get ours for about $30 each but they are so nice I would replace them at full price if I needed to.

I also brought Columbia shoes called drain makers. All the support of sneakers but they dry as fast as Crocs!! If you go prepared for the weather you'll have a great trip!!
