Ok, I need people to tell me it will be just fine if it rains every day we're in Disney. I have been periodically checking the weather for our upcoming trip (Feb 3-13), and it has been ok. Just today I'm checking because I'm starting to pack, and now it is calling for showers and thunderstorms with like 85 degrees almost every day. First, I am not a fan of hot or humid weather. I was actually really hoping for 60 degree weather on this trip (I'm from a northern state), so seeing 85 degrees is making me quite nervous. Second, showers and thunderstorms worry me simply for the ride/show closures and generally dealing with a 5 year old in the rain. I have a dessert party reserved too. So please tell me that it will all be ok, and that I am freaking out for nothing. :scared:

Worrying about the weather that far out is truly a fruitless exercise.
Really? But it is less than a week away, and I'm trying to figure out what to pack. When would the forecast be more reliable?

Rain in Florida is different than rain up north. The storms are super intense for a very short period of time. Ride closures happen when there is lightning in the area but most shows are unaffected, and the rides are back up and running before too long. Just pack a poncho and patience. You can usually wait out a storm in the gift shop. Also, you have a chance at catching the rainy day parade in MK!!!

As for the heat and humidity... sorry! It's probably not going to be in the 60s. I've been watching the weather pretty closely and they seem to be having a warmer than usual winter..

I understand your concerns. We’re headed down to Florida in a couple of weeks too and see that the forecast calls for lots of rain. I don’t know that its the summer type of short intense downpours that a pp mentioned either. We’re bringing rain gear for our outdoor activities and will make the best of it. What are you going to do except plan for the worst and hope for the best?

Definitely different from summer storms. I live in south Louisiana, so we share similar weather patterns with Orlando. This time of year it’s just dreary, misty, drizzling rain. It will be a little heavy at times, but nothing like afternoon summer thunderstorms.

And after I posted this I saw we might have severe weather next week. Lol. You just cannot predict the weather.

Some of the best days we have ever had at the parks involved rain. Crowds are down. Kids splashing in puddles. Great memories. You’ll be fine. Be like Frozen and “Let It Go”. LOL

Yeah that isn’t how I roll. Not sure about the OP, but rain will ruin my day quickly. I do not like going out in it at all, ever. I’m part of the crowd who stays at the resort.

Sounds just like NY weather. We’ve been lucky that the past two Februarys have been gorgeous in Florida, so it was inevitable this would happen ☔

I would pack it all. The rain will probably bring cool fronts in. I looked at the forecast and one night says low of 44.

Bring everything.
Us northerners are ok without hats and gloves in 44 degrees lol. But, yes, I agree to bring some pants and long sleeves/sweatshirts just in case. We never need them in February except for travel days, but you never know. The weather this year is abnormal everywhere.

Think about weather forecasts in the north-----I would never fully believe a forecast from the 3rd through the 13th for up here. I typically start listening a few days ahead of time, and even then they're wrong so often. I can't tell you how often I don't go someplace because they're calling for snow and the snow ever arrives, or else it's flurries for half an hour.

So likewise I wouldn't put any stock in someone trying to tell me the weather for a week and more out for Florida, either. Pack layers, with maybe a lightweight rain jacket for your outermost layer and try not to worry. You're going no matter what, right? So decide you'll have a good time no matter what, too. :) Good luck!

It rained over our trip in December for like 7 of our 10 park days. All day long. Not hard ever and I don't think it ever stormed, just some variation from misting to raining steadily. Pack a poncho for the stroller if you are bringing one so that stays dry. It didn't close anything for lengthy periods(the mine train was closed one morning we had a FP and they give you one that is good all day to come back) and it honestly didn't affect our touring all that much. The majority of things are indoors really expect for AK and even that isn't terrible. And this is coming from a family who had a family member who wasn't too keen to walk around in the actual rain for fear of slipping and hurting themselves worse(they fell on the ice before the trip). So we basically stopped everywhere that was undercover if it was raining.

I agree. When we were packing last Thursday to leave Friday for this week, the warmest day was supposed to be 71, with lots of rainy days in the 60s. So we packed mostly long sleeved shirts. By the time we arrived on Sunday, the rain had more or less disappeared from the forecast, and highs several days were in the mid to high 70s, which with the humidity means short sleeves are needed. DH had to buy a short sleeved shirt because he hadn’t packed even one. Fortunately we have a W/D in our villa.

hahahaha! so true! I actually only packed hat/gloves for my 5 year old. I hardly wear hat/gloves in February where I live (it was about 35 degrees today).

You're right of course, which is why I posted this thread. I just needed people to tell me I was being silly for worrying. 🤪

I'm from Houston, so hot & humid are the norm here. I still despise being in that weather, but I'm used to it. We went in July last year and it rained at least once every single day of our trip. It's unpleasant, but keeping ponchos and waiting it out are the way to go. The storms pass pretty fast.
