Railroad Museum of New England - Santa Train Rides?

Don't know about those, but have you tried the Railroad Museum's (Riverhead & Greenport) Santa train ride? They do it every year the first weekend in December from Riverhead to Greenport. Santa gets on at Southold. He stays in the engine until reaching Greenport, then gets off and heads into the old station house. There is usually a line out the door for the kids to see Santa. They also have a few refreshments as well after seeing him.

Just a head's up though, it's a one-way ride to Greenport. So you would have to have someone meet you in Greeport in order for you to get back home.

My father used to volunteer at the Riverhead museum and would always help out with the Santa train ride. The last one he had done was about 2 years ago before his health started to decline. He past away last October. Last year was the first our DS7 had done without Pop-Pop and it really hit him hard.

That sounds neat, but terribly inconvenient since it's one way.

Aww, I'm sorry about your father:(

I went ahead and bought tickets for the NE one...it looks nice and we'll make a weekend out of it :)
