I was actually hesitant to eat there as I had read mixed things here but DW and MIL wanted to try it and we were able to just walk in (we didn't haev ADRs for our arrival day) and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised.
here is my review if you are interested:
Our waitress was Kayleigh and she was very freindly and overall did a good job (although she did commit the cardinal sin of bringing the entrees prior to clearing the apps)
We were started off with some rolls with a Guiness Honey Oil for dipping:
The rolls were good, if heavy, and the dipping oil was surprisingly good (and a bit addictive) -> overall we gave it a Jim and Pam as it was a bit out of the ordinary and enjoyable ... a good start to the meal.
For drinks, I started with a Murphy's Irish Red and DW had a Strongbow hard cider (figured we would stick with the whole Irish pub theme). MIL had a water, so no picture of that.
They were good and got the job done. I will say that the Murphy's tasted a little watered down. Overall, we give these a Bob Vance and Phyllis
For an appetiser we decided to split the Crock o' Pate - rustic chicken liver pate served with an apricot chutney -> given that Disney no longer has Fois Gras, we figured this was the closest thing we would be able to get:
Wow - this was so good. It came with nice slightly toasted bread and the chutney really put this over the top. It was also a large portion as the three of us could not finish it all and at a reasonable price to boot. I was heistant to pull out the Micheal Scott this early, but this really deserved it.
For our entress, DW got the Goats Town - which was basically a salad with goat cheese and some berries.
She really liked it, but actually felt like there wasn't enough lettuce. She still gave it a definite Jim and Pam:
MIL decided to get a cup of asparagus soup and side salad:
She loved the asparagus sould which was topped with scallions and came with a bread twist. The salad was just ok and didn't come with enough dressing - if she could have done it over she would have gotten the dressing on the side. On average this gets a Jim and Pam:
I decided to get the Heavan on Earth appetizer for my entree which was a bowl of ribs with a Guinness and honey glaze:
These were very good with a very sticky sauce coating and was a perfect sized portion for me. The only shortcoming I had was that some of the ribs were a little light on their coating and didn't have enough flavor. So it also gets a Jim and Pam:
I also ordered a glass of Konensber beer with dinner which I liked better than the Murphy's.
It was light but with a lot of flavor and was similar to a Stella Atrois but I would say smoother. Definite Jim and Pam:
We ordered some massed potatos for DD. I didn't get a great pictures as it got washed out, so instead of that and of a rating, I will just post a picture of DD enjoying said mashed potatoes
