Raglan Road: Too loud?

I have reservations at Raglan Road at 6:45 on our arrival night. I have been to Raglan Road before, but to the bar with some friends for adult drinks. I've never been to the restaurant part. I don't remember it being loud, though the band and dancer were there. That said, I also wasn't thinking about the atmosphere with kids.

I picked Raglan Road because I thought it would be fun for my almost 6 year old, as she loves Irish dancing. In another thread, someone mentioned that it might be loud for our baby. So I'm thinking I may want to go someplace else for dinner. I was thinking we could do WPE and then check out RR. If it's too loud, I could take the baby back to POFQ (assuming the boat runs at night?) while DH could stay with the older girls.

Or would you scrap RR altogether? IF so, for what?

I was just at Raglan Road for the first time this past Tuesday for dinner with my husband, and I didn't think the band was loud. We ate around 6:30 or 6:45, so fairly early in the evening. The band at that time just consisted of a guitarist and flutist(?) ... we saw 2 or 3 dances before we left. We were seated maybe 30-35 feet from the band and had no trouble talking. There were tables even farther away, so I'm sure you could ask for one of those if you were concerned about the noise.

We ask to be seated far away from the band. Works well for us.

One time they were going to seat us at a table right in front of the band. I probably could have reached out and touched one of the players. There was no problem being seated somewhere else.

We've never eaten here with a baby buy my DD was about 6 the first time. If you are seated in one of the rooms off the side it's not too loud, you can even have conversation at dinner!
