We walked up to the bar several times and sat both at the bar and at an outside table without reservations. It was however during lunch hours not dinner.

Understood. I have never been there during the entertainment so can not comment. Also the bar I was referring to is the outdoor patio bar of which I believe there are 2 although I could be mistaken.

Yes, there are two outdoor bars. The one to the left of the main entrance is the larger one and also has entertainment. It was always walk-up seating pre-Covid, but I don’t know the current situation. The second bar (the Hole in the Wall Bar) is around the corner from the main entrance, adjacent to the Cookes of Dublin quick serve location. We have ordered food at Cookes and an adult beverage at the bar. They used to have a happy ”hour” from noon to 6 pm weekdays. Again, I don’t know about the post-Covid situation there.

You can walk in and sit at bar.
If there is a stool available
