Raglan Road, Disney Discount Dining Plan and Tip

When my husband and I went to dinner at Raglan in Dec. we used our Disney Dining Club card for the discount and when the server came back with our check, he had added an 18% tip automatically. I questioned it and was told that when you use your discount card there that is the rule to add the tip regardless.. Curious as to if anyone else experienced this? I personally don't think it's a fair practice because I think service tips should be based on just that quality of service.

That is not standard practice, the reason he probably did it is that some people tip on the discounted total instead of on the total before the discount as you should

We have been to Raglan Road 4 times now, sometimes the tip is added on, sometimes it isn't. After the first time when the tip was added on, I always check now before tipping. So, I think it is the server doing this, because the probably get stiffed with the tips and the discounts.

I don't think people understand..even with the discount..you tip on the full amount of the bill. You can't blame the servers really, they do a great job at Raglan Road. We usually tip 20% min anyway, so the 18% they tack on is not a problem if they do it, we usually give them more.

It is the actual disney restaurants I don't like the tip being added on to..as that is where we run into service problems sometimes.
