We just got back Sunday. We were at WDW from Nov. 21st. We ate at Raglan Road three times. Once for lunch and twice for dinner. We had excellent service and good food all three times. In fact, for lunch we even got a special treat.

There are three of us in our family and we were on the dining plan. My husband and 17 year old son decided to have a starter to share (baby back ribs in a Guinness sauce) and I was looking at the solo ones when the server came back with our water and asked me if I liked scallops. I love them and he said those were his favorite and if I wanted the scallop forest I could order that even though it was meant to be a starter for sharing and counted as two. Technically I couldn't order it as one on the meal plan. He offered, I never would have thought to ask, but I jumped all over it! I shared with Hubby and son and they were awesome. I liked peeling the breading off but my family said the breading was very good.

We had steak sandwiches which weren't on the menu but were the special of the day. I think those sandwiches were my favorite meal of the trip. They were so good. I didn't eat the bread and it was still filling. We each ordered a different dessert to share. The desserts were nice but we all loved the bread pudding. That was incredible. I eat low carb and the only time I wasn't very careful was at Raglan Road. I had a taste of every dessert. Not a big one but still, it was the most sugar I've had in over two years LOL. I always ordered a dessert too on the meal plan even if I don't eat it because my guys will.

A few nights later my husband and I had tickets for la Nouba and we went to Downtown Disney early to find a place to eat (no reservations this time). We saw people eating outside at Raglan Road so we asked if they had room for two. We had moved from Coronado Springs to Orange lake when the rest of my family joined us last week so we weren't on the dining plan anymore. We didn't have starters or dessert, but I ordered the Raglan Romaine Salad with chicken and my husband had the Serious Sirloin Steak. I enjoyed the salad very much and he liked his steak. We got our food quickly and the server was nice. She checked on us often. I enjoyed sitting there watching people go by!

We decided to eat there one last time and treat my parents before we left. My Mom loves Irish music and dancing so we made reservations for 8:30 one night (the entertainment starts at 9pm). it was much busier that night but we were seated quickly. We got a good table near the stage. We ordered the same starters from the other day and they were just as good as before. My mother and I split the steak and ordered a side of asparagus to share. My husband had the bangers & mash and our son and my Dad had the Guiness stew (Sod ... the Stew). The stew was wonderful. They both loved it and I had a bite of sons and it was very delicious. The steak was very good but it wasn't outstanding like Le Cellier's. My husband thought his was only so-so. He said he wouldn't order it again, the sausages were a little too spicy. He drowned his sorrows in bread pudding for dessert though :)

For dessert my parents split a pavlova (I forget the name), it had strawberries, champagne and meringue, my husband had the bread pudding (everyone tried!) and son had the Bailey's Creme Brulee Tart. I had a taste of that and thought it was very yummy! He liked it too. The entertainment was fun and my parents enjoyed the night.

All in all, we had three very good experiences there. We enjoyed all of our meals at WDW (I'll write reviews on the other places later) but Raglan Road was a definite favorite. I had worried about it too since I remembered some of the reviews not being so great.

Happy to hear you had such a good experience at RR! We ate there twice during our last trip and loved the atmosphere and the food. Also had great service. :thumbsup2 I have the recipe for the Bread Pudding if you are interested! :goodvibes

Thanks for posting your reviews. We haven't tried Raglan Road yet.

Thanks for the positive reviews.

Ohh I'm glad it' still good. I have a reservation but it's waaaaaay off in May!

oh shoot, I just saw this post. Thank you for the offer. I did find the recipe online, I promised the family I'd make it. I'd love to find the brown soda bread recipe or the sod the stew recipe sometime. Actually, I just wanna go back. I think I'm having Disney withdrawals...

I'm glad you enjoyed Raglan Road -- it's one of my family's favorites and I too, was worried about some of the negative reviews.

One of the things that I like about it is the size of the menu - there's so much to choose from, unlike some other WDW restaurants that appear to have pared down their menus. The appetizers alone at RR could keep me coming back for a week to try something new every day.

We just planned a day "off" from the parks to got DTD and DQ. I'll have to keep RR in mind for lunch.

Thanks.

Thanks for the review! We will be there next week and I have ressies @ RR and can't wait! Have a Merry Christmas!:car: :car:

This is wonderful. I would like to ask though if it was a loud restaurant? My brother in law hates it when it is too loud. ANy information on this would be greatly apprecitated. :thumbsup2

This restaurant can get louder later in the evening, but nothing too earsplitting. However, they do have live music later, too. It's not deafening (our 3 YO DS has no problem with it), but you definitely can't carry on a conversation.

Raglan Road has a couple of dining areas that are away from the main dining area that are a bit quieter, too.

Thats great. Thank you for letting me know. We will most likely try for the rooms off to the side just in case. :cool1:
