The Radisson Universal (which used to be called the Twin Towers) was the first hotel I stayed at in Orlando! It's also one of my faves!
I always call it a 4 star disguised a 3 star. It has a great staff and wonderful rooms. It has been seriously compromised by the onsite Loew's Hotels because it used to be THE Universal hotel. I can only imagine how much money they lost with those three opening up!
Universal's parking lot is literally across the street on Kirkman. Many people walk from there but be ready for a LONG walk. They do have a shuttle but as I remember it stops at several hotels so the ride takes a while.
The area it's in, the Kirkman, Major Rd, Vineland Rd area, has MANY eating choices, not to mention just about ALL the most famous fast food restaurants and a Ponderosa with a great breakfast buffet. There is a TGIF across Major in the Holiday Inn, a Denny's nearby. As you can see there are plenty of budget choices.
Any more questions, ask away. I love that area and was just there about a week ago!
