Hey all!

Just got back from New York City and the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Had a great time and got some pics that I am super happy with. Just thought I'd share a couple of them! They were shot handheld from row 10 in the first balcony with no flash! (Except for the last one. :santa: )

Nice photos - thanks for sharing! I saw the Radio City Spectacular when it came to Pittsburgh a few years ago, and it was awesome! Do they still have the live animals in the nativity at the end?

Mr. Mouse Fan,I going to see the show this saturday. Can you tell me what iso, lens, and f stop you used.Your shots came out great.I didn't think they would let you take pictures of the show. Thanks for posting.

Thanks! Yes, they still have the live animals in the Nativity. I think that is one of my favorite parts of the show!

Thanks! Yes, you are allowed to take pictures, however, no flash is permitted (though I did see lots of them during the show).

I don't have an SLR, I used the Fuji S5200 and I'm really pleased with how these pics turned out! Here are a few pics with their EXIF info first:

Exposure Time 1/60 sec
F-Stop 3.3
Shutter Priority
ISO 200
Shutter Speed 1/64 sec

Great shots..congrats!

Word to the wary..if you go to see the Christmas Spectacular, do NOT take a dSLR. They consider it to be a "professional" camera and will not allow it in the theater. I went two years ago with my Canon 30D and they told me my choices were to either check my camera at the door or skip the show. Needless to say I was livid as their website (at the time) said that cameras were allowed in the theater, but neglected to list any restrictions. I made them get me a manager who signed a paper stating that the theater would be responsible if my camera wasn't there when the show ended (seems extreme, but I was handing them $2500 worth of camera equipment). The camera was there, and all was well, but it ruined the experience for me.

BeautyLLM,thanks for the heads up.Yes I was going to bring my 50D with me this saturday. Now I'll be leaving it home.

prowlerregal335m,

Glad to help!

How do you like the 50D? I have the 40D now which I love. Not sure there is enough of a difference to warrant another upgrade...

BeautyLLM,so far so good with the 50D.I upgraded from a 20D. The only thing I wanted was the 3 inch screen. The eyes aren't as good as they were years ago.I'm going back to WDW on december 13 for 7 days.I just started shooting raw,I don't know if I'll shoot raw or jpeg when I go in december.I was there last year and shoot 1700 jpegs.I bought 3 sandisk 4gig cards but I don't think that will be enough to shoot in raw.I'll post some photos when I get back. You can look at some of my photos if you look under picture of the day in the camping section.
