Anyone staying at the Raddison at Port Canaveral the night before the cruise?
Why not all get together for a drink??? I will be with my husband George. Carmine and Kay, my dear friends will be with us who are also DVC members.

We'll be staying at the Radisson the night before too. In fact we booked that when we first heard about the cruise (figured we could cancel if we didn't get in).

Would love to get everyone together. It will be DH Mark (MarkRG) and I. Hope others can join us as well. A meet by the pool bar sounds like a great idea.

Us too. Since we have a later flight, and since we will have been at OKW less than a month before, we're heading straight to the port.

I booked it using the FALL promo. (Found it mentioned on the cruise board.)

I'll be happy to join you by the pool, but we may not get there until 8:00pm or so.

The Radisson is a little over a mile from the pier. They run complimentary shuttles to and from the port.

From what I understand, you can rent a car through Avis and drop it off at the Radission. That's what we're planning on doing on Saturday, and use the shuttle on Sunday.

I booked it online at: www.radisson.com .

Again, use the FALL promo. The rate for 2/1 was $79.00 for a standard room, $99.00 for a 1 bedroom suite.

We (DH-John and myself) will be staying at the Radisson but we won't be in until around 8:00 PM or so.

Now to get the car arranged. Is it easier to just call Avis or can it be booked on line for a one way?

I just called their Cape Canaveral location to confirm that you can drop off the car at the Radisson.

We did the Avis one-way rental and drop off at the Radisson this past May and it worked great. We'll be doing it again in February.

Right now, I have a reservation at the BoardWalk! But, one never knows....staying close to the port is a great idea also! It would be wonderful to see you again! But, I guess we will see you on that ship! RIGHT?

You need to take the pics to put on your web site.
Besides, why drive for 2 hours, when you can all ready be there.

I made my Avis reservations. I made two seperate reservations - one from MCO to Radisson (Feb 1-2) and one from Radisson to MCO (Feb 6-8). Does this sound OK or does someone have any other ideas?

I also used the D002807 code. Is there a coupon that will need to be shown when we pick up the car or will they just honor it?

We live about 2.5 hours away - so we were just going to head over Sunday morning - but this sounds SO much better!!

I hope to convince DH - then I'll see you all there Saturday night!!

We are staying at Disney's Boardwalk Resort also! We have parked at the port several times in the past. I think the free parking at the Raddison would be fine. I've heard the shuttle is easy and convienient.

Has anyone considered their "Cruise Line Package," which includes a shuttle to the Port, and parking at their resort while we're on the cruise?

It bumps the $79 rate for the standard room to $109.

How much can we expect to pay if we drive to the port and park there for the 4 days?

I don't know... It sounds really nice and convenient for the beginning of the cruise - but I suspect when we disembark, I'm going to just want to hop in the car and GO - wouldn't want to hassle with the shuttle... I remember those days from staying offsite in Orlando! Those shuttle buses were one of the biggest things to convince us to buy into DVC and stay onsite from now on!!
