I hope all you expperts out there will help a brand new user of this wonderful site! I'm looking for a clean, close to WDW, pretty, fairly upscale resort with a fabulous pool for my 8 and 10 year olds. Do you recommend Caribe Royale or Raddison Resort Parkway? Thanks!

look at the top sticky - best and worst hotels

I think the Raddison gets higher marks than Caribe Royale - but I haven't stayed in either.

Thanks....I have read reviews at tripplanner.com etc but I was really hoping to find out from real people which hotel is generally preferred. Any other thoughts out there??

Mary at www.mousesavers.com has reviews of both.

I've stayed at Radisson Parkway and it definitely has a fabulous pool. There is a waterfall and a great slide. There is a window for snacks from the food court area and I believe ice cream and there is a pool side bar for us grown ups! My then 16 year old DD and her friend liked it better then the pools at the Universal hotels because there was no life guard and they got to do whatever they wanted down the slide! :rotfl: The rooms were fine - typical Radisson hotel rooms. They also had a Pizza Hut we ate at - we only stayed one night before we check in at Royal Pacific so I don't really remember what other amenities were there. The location was very convenient to WDW but I'd say Caribe is probably a little better (we stayed at Buena Vista Suites last week - right next to Caribe)

I stayed at RRP for 2 nights in 2003...the Pool area was great for kids (and adults too!). I believe they have two large pools (one with a slide) and a hot tub. We also enjoyed the breakfasts each morning in the cafe...

The only issue is that parts of the hotel are cleaner and newer than others. We had a newly remodeled room with a pool view, but the hallways were still done in bad 70's decor. The elevator was not good...it was really slow and very tiny. Besides that, the hotel was fine for us. We stayed there for about $80 a night so it was a good deal. We then went on to stay at the AKL for 4 nights.

Hello,

Its been a while since I stayed at the Caribe with a few girl friends as we went to a convention. However I remember it well and wished the whole time that I wished my daughter was with me. The rooms were of a fairly nice size and had enough room and closet space that 3 grown women and all our stuff fit well into it. We were in one of the attached bldgs and had a elevator that was sep for that bldg. Three beds inclding the sofa bed. The girl who slept on that bed said it was fine So maybe for two little girls it'll be like a big sleep over in that area. Yes there's a door seperating the two rooms. The pool area was great and the slide would prob be a moderate super slide if that makes sence. The pic on the caribe web site is on the money for size. They had a nice hot tub round back. A snack bar and a little area that was for little kids a little father from the main pool with a splash area if I remember correctly. Remember that this was a few yrs ago but I do remember we went to Arrabain Nights and to DTD and we were never in the car more than 10min the whole weekend it seemed. So I think this would be a good choice. However I don't belive that its as lavishly landscaped as the Radison that your considering if that matters to you. Have a great vacation.

I've stayed at that raddison a few times. It is a great hotel, excellent pools, great location. Rooms are on the small side though.

We went into this hotel room and left. Maybe we had the older rooms didn't like the room at all. Elevetors old price to eat high in their restaurant off at their small cafe. Parking was tight could not park near the room.
Went to the Radisson Lake Buena Vista we like this one better pool was very nice as well as the room.Would go to this one again.
