I was in the race retreat tent as well in that icy rainy weather, and it being my first Disney Half, it was like a 5 star hotel! Not to mention the nice hot breakfast served after the run. I thought it was well worth it

I find the tent tempting....

We ate at the past feed last year and will probably make it again this year.

Not sure I will ever figure out the draw for the ChEAR packages for folks who are mobile.

I was like this last year and was just going to rough it like I always do to watch DH however, I was going with a friend who wanted to do ChEAR squad to watch her BF so we both got the gold package and all I can say is that I just signed up for this year's package. I like to make it a mini marathon for myself and haul my butt around to see DH at as many places as possible however, this is much harder at disney because if you get to places 'just in time' to see him pass crowds can be really deep. So I was very glad that the chEAR section in front of the castle was not crowded at all so I could go right to the front see DH and jet off to the next place. Also I was not prepared for it to be THAT cold last year so the heated lamps and hot chocolate/coffee in the finish zone that they had just for us was a lifesaver, as was the butt mat as when we arrived the metal bleachers in the finish area had frost on them so this was a great buffer from the cold.

As a wimp from Pittsburgh, Pa who is looking forward to the warmth of Florida in January, I'm a firm believer in the beauty of the tent!! I missed the race last year, but I believe it was colder there than it was here! If it's $100.00 or less, I'm in.
Anyway, the link to the Race Retreat has disappeared...I think they were having problems with it, because when I clicked on it this morning it froze up my computer.

It's *only* $85 for the half. But I'm not sure. I suspect I'm going to want to get into a cold bath ASAP and not hang around for brunch... We shall see.

Pasta in the Park is a pasta dinner in one of the WDW parks the night before the race so you can carb up. It comes with a park ticket for that particular park too.

Do you know if you can get into Epcot before the party starts? When we went to the Pirate and Princess party at the MK we were able to get into the MK at 4pm with our ticket even though the party didn't start until 7pm, so I am wondering if the Pasta in the Park ticket is similar?

The Pasta in the Park event is fro 6:30 through 9:00 pm. In 2010, the event ticket allowed you into the park at 6pm.
