GO WISH TEAM GO!!!!

Wow, we have a lot of racers here this weekend! Good luck to all!

Lily--How cool that you'll be on the Towpath this weekend, since I was on it last weekend--different area I'm sure, but I'm sure just as beautiful!

Wow, what a busy weekend!

Go WISH Team Go!

:woohoo: And a special shout-out to my friend Heather (TxBelle) doint the RFFT! You go girl! :woohoo:

I did this trail marathon in 2005 and hoped I’d have learned a thing or two since then. No such luck. I must say, though, the course was still as gorgeous as I remembered, even with the severe drought we have been experiencing in NC. Lots of rolling hills, great lake views, shaded trails, and some of the nicest trail runners you’d ever care to meet. My time was actually a few seconds worse than my previous race, but this year I didn’t fall. Hooray! I did, however, get a stellar case of poison ivy – and a cute little medal and a technical shirt with “Road Racing is for Wimps” emblazoned across the back.

All in all, a good way to get in this week’s long run.

Christa, I had no idea you were there -- not that I'd have seen you at my abysmal pace!

Wendy, Erica and I are so proud of you. She would say so to but she is working extra hours to cover for another nurse. A 14hour night doesn't leave a lot of computer time. You are an inspiration and a wonderful role model.:flower3:

GOOD LUCK WISHERS

Wendy--- Good job on your marathon. You are the Marathon Queen.

Nancy

Good luck to all the racers this weekend. Looking forward to all the reports.

Wendy: Congrats on finishing your trail race. I'm glad you didn't fall this time. Sorry about the poison ivy.

Cindy

Wendy, several of my friends much prefer the trail races over the road races. I guess I'll have to give it a try someday.

Good job! Hope the poison ivy clears up fast. :upsidedow

Good Luck to all the Wish team members running in races this weekend!!!!

Wendy--Great job on your marathon! Sorry about the poison ivy..hope that gets better really soon!

Can't wait to hear everyone's race reports from the weekend!

Race Report: Maine Half Marathon, Portland, Maine

Hi Wish Team,

A chilly, somewhat drizzly start to the race today; by finish the sun was out and 62 degrees--so all in all perfect race weather.

Ran the first mile, then settled in to my 5 min./1 min. run/walk. Splits:

Mile 1: 9:35
Mile 2: 10:28
Mile 3: 10:36
Mile 4: 9:57
Mile 5: 10:30
Mile 6: 10:27
Mile 7: 10:22
Mile 8: 9:51
Mile 10: 10:04
Mile 11: 10:16
Mile 12: 9:40
Mile 13: 9:06 (no walk interval)
.27 Mi.: 1:58

Finish time of 2:12:52 for 13.27 miles. I'm happy with my race, except for my left calf which acted up again. I'll need to rest it for several days.

Gotta head out to kids' soccer games; I'll check in tomorrow.

One other person/race to report: Calcio ran the BAA 1/2 marathon in Boston today. He finished in 2:00:40!!! He did GREAT and is (somewhat) pleased with his effort. His only comment: couldn't he have found 40 seconds in him to finish in under 2 hours?

Calcio: you ROCK!!! :cheer2:

TXBelle: you go girl!!! :woohoo:

Kudos to ALL WISHers racing this weekend!!!
